Alvaro isn't much use when we've got all the ball. Two games in a row we've had over 60% possession.
As for Payne Haas, I reckon he's already the best forward in the game. Taumalolo is a bit better in attack but Haas is a quality defender as well. Taumalolo is a liability without the ball.
Not always. It’s communication from the line leader (probably Matto) and Decore’s awareness.I reckon Niukore should've come with him. It's the responsibility of the inside defender to keep up with the outside man.
Reminded me of 2001 when the unlimited interchange made us one of the most devastating attacking teams in history. As long as we are disciplined we will relentlessly tire teams to the point of exhaustion and the flood gates will inevitably open.I reckon that game showed that the new ruling on six again could well turn one of our perceived weaknesses ( the lack of wrestle in the ruck ) into a strength.
We have been risk averse in the ruck for a few seasons now, with the focus on not giving away penalties, rather than controlling the ruck, that looks to me like it has put us in a good place to quickly adapt to the six again.
I'll admit I thought it'd probably hurt us, but that doesn't look like the case, the roll-on we got in those first 15 minutes or so really told in being able to take Brisbane apart in the second half, the speed of the game is gonna obviously suit possession, and literally giving away a 9 - 12 tackle set without the break to reset defence and grab some air looks a lot more costly than conceding a penalty kick for opposition to walk downfield.
Will watch the likes of the Roosters and Storm, to see how that'll work for squads who really dominate the ruck with wrestle and in the past were more than willing to concede a penalty to reset the defence.
I think 2001 was limited interchange (12). We killed it that year because we played dump and run from dummy half after submitting to surrender tackles to get a quick play the ball.Reminded me of 2001 when the unlimited interchange made us one of the most devastating attacking teams in history. Even when the Knights beat us in the GF had the game gone 5 min more we would have pegged then back and defeated them that’s how good our attack was.
How,painful is Kevin Walters commentating on a Broncos game. Coupled with Alexander's bias, it sounded like the Eels were lucky etc , Vossy is at least honest.
Walters never sees a Broncoos knock on or forward pass , but makes calls that the other side gets favoured. He is a knobhead when the Broncos are losing.

compared to the first two games, last nite was just stunning. luving the post try celebrations as well. and the defensive line was running up without nbrown leading the way. maybe we have finally arrived as a true team performer
I expect more video ref calls with one less official on fieldJust wanted to point out to anyone who wants the video ref gone you only need to watch the first try to Niukore.
Ref calls no try when it is perfectly clear he grounded it well. Would have been a disastrous decision.
Matteson had to focus on Haas and leave Croft for Niukore. The alternative was to square up on Croft and leave Haas running at Moses. Not always. It’s communication from the line leader (probably Matto) and Decore’s awareness.
Matto f**ked up by focusing on Haas, Decore f**ked up by not keeping in line and Gunco f**ked up by doing whatever he did there.
There was also no surrender tackle rule, meaning we could get a quick play-the-ball whenever we wanted by diving at the opposition's feet.Reminded me of 2001 when the unlimited interchange made us one of the most devastating attacking teams in history. St George were the masters of it before us. They turned it into an art form. There was also no surrender tackle rule, meaning we could get a quick play-the-ball whenever we wanted by diving at the opposition's feet.
