Would like to see the club wrap Brown up now long term along with Will.
The way Storm did with their stars. If we wait till Nov 1 he is as good as gone imo.
Get the job done
My concern is that someone in the organisation will think Jake could replace Dylan. Jake may end up a genuine first grader but Dylan is "Munster" class. Potentially the best Eel since Hayne. If his re signing is not prioritised its a massive fail. Negotiations should have already commenced. Hopefully they have.

Surely they aren't that dumb. I reckon BA knows exactly what his son is. Bar injuries to our halves I don't see him getting a sniff in the NRL again this season.

Surely with your keener than the average person’s insight, you’d have wrapped him up months before his career game where now he’ll be demanding more dollars. And then what do you do when he goes to water next week?

I understand letting Mahoney go. He is very limited due to his body and physical attributes.
D.Brown however has never had this issue. Losing him would defeat the process of developing players. Panthers seemed to be able to hold onto Cleary,Critchton,Laui,Too,Yeo,JFH,Spencer, Edwards, Leota....They let guys go who are past their peak or a high chance to be in Kikau and Korisau.

If we lost Brown on top of already losing Mahoney ,Papali'i and Marata it would be a bitter blow. I understand Stone and Kafusi and neither is a worry.

I've said this 10 x now. I felt losing Gutherson after this season would of been ok. I would of rolled with a young Russel and kept a core together. The N.Brown deal was smart. 2 yrs.
Unsure about Jnrs and RCG 4yr deals but both are in the elite category.

As I said Penrith dint have an issue wrapping up more promising stars. Storm also keep the ones they want.
We've copped a hammer blow already. If we lost any of Russel,Pensini or D.Brown it would be hugely embarrasing for what we have built.

Dont under estimate Marys involvement in our win

Having Ennis and him there are giving BA and co very different perspectives, how we should play, attack IMO.

Last year against the Dragons we persisted going through the middle against them, they won that battle and when we started to use the football 2nd part of the second half we started to come good, but was too late

Last night game we mixed it up a lot, went wider earlier. Just mind f..ked the dragqueens all game long. Keeping unforced errors (our nemesis since 1986) to a minumum helped a lot.

Having said all that more importantly had we scored 10 tries in total and Reg got one of them, Id be a 2k multi happier.

Eels cost me $1, not sure how much longer I can continue supporting them with these sorts of losses..

As much as we bag JA he wasn't that bad. He had half a game.
Emu and Bruce in limited minutes made some poor errors. Emu playing the ball side ways if in a big game could of cost you along with Bryce's attempted tackle while he was fresh for Saints 2nd try was embarrassing.

JA looks unco but hard to judge him off 40mins of footy in rnd 1.

Hang on - aren't we only judging JA on his surname?

I'm just pointing out that he only has played 40mins and thou he did nothing magic I do not recall anything terrible. If he had 1p games then I might come to a conclusion. Atm we can only judge him on his physical side and he looks a little weak and slow to accelerate.

This is my take.

Moses kicking game is another level. Clearys is more draining and controlling. He pins sides down. Moses is more attacking. Unsure who has the better one currently.

Waqa is playing better then he has in his career. More his attitude. He looks a leader and playing with mongrel.

Dylan's gone to another level which makes us dangerous.

Pensini is a real talent.

Mattersons defense is excellent but his attack isn't close to Lanes. We look so much better in attack with Lane.

At this point our key players in my eyes are the two halves and the two starting props along with Lane.

Gutherson and Mahoney are doing their jobs but their speed worries me once finals come. The top sides are very fast in those positions. Still they are playing well.

Simmonson again fails to impress me. It had me wondering when Russel is fit what happens? I assume Russel goes to NSW CUP and has to work his way into side. I see more upside in Russel. I also wonder when Sivo is back. Opacic has great defense but a turtle in attack. Sivo and Russel in that backline makes it far more exciting. Potential to be very potent. But perhaps that's the word. Potential.

Greig in his limited time shows me he does have potential. He will need 30 NRL games and atleast 25mins a game. More potential then Kafusi and Makatoa in his run game.

Mahoney dropping off tackles is also a worry when finals come around.

When everyone is fit we add Lane and Marata. Greig and most likely Makatoa will drop out. Its going to be one hell of a forward pack.

Bryce needs time also. Close to the line we look so much more potent with him on the field.

Brilliant summarization.

Gutho's been a bit off to start the season as far as ball playing goes, but being there in position to ball play gives Drown more options and the defence more decisions to make.

If he had more speed they wouldn't get the chance to make a decision.

Except when we play teams that don't give up
What's giving up got to do with it? Did Melbourne give up last week?
how did grinding go against Cronulla competing at 88%???
We nearly beat them. If our defence was better we would have.
How did it go against the Panthers???
We almost beat a better team in the finals. Grinding worked just fine.
Storm also??? We threw some caution against the wind last week against them and knocked them off. They eat that grinding stuff for Breaky.
Do you think we suddenly became a great attacking team last week? We scored three tries off kicks ffs. It was all field position and getting to our kick.

I like Blake on the wing, would like to see him stay there and Russell come back into the centres being his natural position.

Simonsen also improved his defense last night, with a few big hits which I've not seen from him before

God help us if Moses gets injured.

Especially in a game where his team mates put the cue in the rack

Especially for a so called development club, all we are doing is developing for others. I hear we are in talks to extend Penisini hopefully we are also doing the same with Drown and Russell.

I think we’ve been harsh on simonsen. Our wingers in recent years have struggled at times and the problems haven’t been rectified.

No. We’re judging him on his average performances. Don’t let his surname mask up his ability

That's true cause athletically he looks average. But it is hard to judge a half on a handful of games.

Many Penrith fans untill 2 season ago wanted Nathan moved to hooker. Plenty said he just doesn't offer enough as a halfback. Yes he showed a lot more then JA but he didn't explode untill Maloney left. Untill then he was very safe and did the little things right
