So the guys in the rows in front of us were going ballistic about that 5th tackle try by the Cows which featured a lot of hail Mary passes and one that was “batted” backwards. They were saying ‘that’s not a pass, that’s not a pass, we got a try taken off us for doing that’.

I know the two handed volleyball type bat they they were referring to, but is that a rule ?

No. But the pass after that looked a mile forward to me.

I said it before. Ticket prices and corporate greed are the issue.
Saturday 5.30 pm is a great time slot, yet we are playing against probably the worst drawing team.
It's time to drop the ticket prices for certain seats.
It is no surprise that all the empty seats are the most expensive ones.
Crowds are great at the moment but there is so much more clubs could do to get more fans to games.
14k crowd on a perfect day for a 5:30pm timeslot on a Saturday must be ringing alarm bells for the bean counters.

Yes the Cows ain't a side that brings many supporters to sydney but 35k members and less then 40% were there yesterday.

Says a lot about what most paid up members think about the club right now.

It’s not a rule. You can do as many 2 hand bat backs as you like if they travel backwards

Ive noticed a difference in seat allocation this year. It appears away team supporters are placed very much in the old swimming pool corner. It has given them a greater voice for sure. That corner was noticably empty yesterday. Very few cows there, where as Manly and Wests fans totally filled that corner and were super loud as a result.
Still a disappointing crowd though KG.

Happy to get the win but that was a game between two bad teams. If the Cowboys weren’t so inept and knew how to finish off their raids on our edges they would have won easily.

I think we used up our seasons worth of luck last night. How we weren't down by a couple of tries at half time is beyond me.

Thankfully we showed enough to win. Gutho looks busted to me. He has padding around his side which I think is hampering him. As we all know, we don't have anyone to replace him.

As others have pointed out, we are behind the 8 ball big time with Lussick. I thought he was good a couple of ago and was happy when we got him back, but he is so far away from what we need at hooker.

Hopefully Simonsson is ok, we just cannot afford any injuries to our backs.

Agree with others on Matto. This is a guy with size and skill, however apart from 2022 just doesn't do enough.

Asi did well, but can he keep it up for another 6 weeks?

On the ref's, I couldn't believe they allowed their first try after the push on Lane. Mind you Lane was so passive on that play.

Was very disappointed in our ability to set up for a field goal on the two sets prior to us actually potting one. We seriously have no footy brains in this team.

I thought the feldt one was a try personally early. Asi was never getting there and it maybe it the rule.

But the rules currently are wrong.

So probably a square up but yeah they foresnic everything so was bizarre it was missed.

Asi doesn't have to "get there" for the obstruction to disadvantage the defense. We're sliding to cover, that's pushed from the inside out. Asi being taken out means Harper hasn't got him protecting his inside shoulder so can't slide out like he needs, if he does he gives Drinkwater a clear inside line where Asi would have been but now isn't.

Gutho was unbelievable but I still think hes trying to do too much and hampering the attack.
Drown was fantastic. The right side seemed to suit him.
Lane was much improved. More please.
What a difference when Paulo runs face on into the D. Post contact meters and bending the line instead of that playing halfback and turning sideways at the line sh*t.
Harpers second half was fantastic and Simonsson was a real threat and worked his butt off. I want more from Russell. His miss on Holmes for that try was awful.
On replay I reckon Matto was slightly better than I thought.
Get rid of Talagi and put a 9 or a back on the bench.
BAs bench usage was much better and his coverage for Simmonsons injury was well planned.
Carty is one tough sob. Obviously in discomfort but he was great.
Hoppy was ok. We expect at least that and maybe a bit more.
All in all I had a great day. Caylesss Crusaders got up. Go Zac!
No bloody fire torches going off and Parra seemed to get through the tunnel ok without much fanfare.
Looking forward to my next Commbank game day.

The Cows were travelling well and are chock full of SOO players. Did we make them clunky cky or was it something else ? Dunno.

The stats are quite similar apart from ineffective tackles, it was 22-4 to them.

I have not watched the replay, but at the ground, we thought it was Gutho that was the reason we won. It was his energy in the middle. His carrys. His weaving and looking for opportunities that got us there.

Dylan played his 6 role fine and defended great. Asi surprised everyone by showing he can tackle, as he doesn’t really in Cup. Just shows that D is attitude, again.

The missed tackles by Harper and Russell were poor at crucial times. Actually I think it was Sean’s worst game for us for a long time.

It was Joes best game for us as well.

I don't think Russell was that poor he defended well. The amount of times they went wide was alot!

Brown and King were great. He actually moved to the right.

Asi missed that first tackle that let Felt get that huge break.

But apart from that Asi was good should have been there from game 3.
