Yeah true, some of the dumb mistakes are by the more experienced players. You can forgive the odd mistake from someone like Smith, Iongi and Tuivati but when the senior players do it, its a real concern. Fair point about the forward pack unless the likes of Paulo and Joffa pull their finger out next week.
Penisini is a concern, far too erratic and inconsistent
If we get back to back spoons in 25/26 which would be good odds he will never get another gig in the NRL.
sweet relief

Tbf, we have had the worst draw in regards to day games in extreme heat....I know it affects both teams, but we have copped it consecutively. Add the brown distraction where you can see that the team was shell shocked from the first game of the season, and also add the horrendous injury toll.....I just can't blame ryles yet. I can honestly see the green shoots. We don't look so flimsy on the edges in defence like the previous seasons. And you can see the wrestle in slowing down the play the ball, but obviously it's gonna take time to perfect....

I am giving ryles 2 seasons before I spew forth my hatred

I reckon we should sign one of those online petitions, staying that we, as members of the club, have had a gutful of incompetent front office management, and are demanding their sacking.

If we get decent enough numbers, they can't ignore it.

Even though they will.
We could get a group together and force an EGM of the Leagues Club. Use that to get 4 seats on the Board so we can sack everyone we don't like and put our mates in.

Penisini is 22 years old, in a better side he’d have been in and out of first grade actually having a chance to develop his game in the lower grades while getting a taste every now and then to see how he’s coming along. Not us though, our backline has been so shit over the last four years that he will crack 100 games this season. The real baffling part is that he still makes the same stupid mistakes, it’s like no one is on him telling him what he needs to work on.

Or maybe he is just dim witted and uncoachable

Yes, he did it by signing a new contract (with us, luckily) that was more favourable to him than triggering the optional PO - which ergo he gave up.
He didn't give anything up. He got everything the PO was worth and more. The only one to give up a PO was Drown, who gave up the future PO included in his current contract. He didn't give up the current PO either, he declined it.

Obviously that is unsupportable - but I love how you take the other extreme where no one is accountable for the fact that we only have 3 or 4 players up to the standard of this competition, that is of course a much more reasonable position

He gave up the opportunity to trigger his PO, because he chose to pursue a new contract with us instead.
He got everything the PO was worth and more.
True, no disagreement there.

Brown is the only one to not trigger his PO and sign a new contract elsewhere. It doesn't mean he's the only one to not trigger/decline/give up his PO.
