It’s not excitement, it’s clutching at strawsOur Roster is shit..
People getting excited about Doorey Carty and Matto show how bad it is...

No but neither are lane or kautoga at this level so what’s the difference? You think Moretti is capable of playing in the second row?
Penisini is a concern, far too erratic and inconsistentYeah true, some of the dumb mistakes are by the more experienced players. You can forgive the odd mistake from someone like Smith, Iongi and Tuivati but when the senior players do it, its a real concern. Fair point about the forward pack unless the likes of Paulo and Joffa pull their finger out next week.
sweet reliefIf we get back to back spoons in 25/26 which would be good odds he will never get another gig in the NRL.
Yes, he did it by signing a new contract (with us, luckily) that was more favourable to him than triggering the optional PO - which ergo he gave up.No he did it by signing a new contract that was more favourable to him than the PO.
I reckon he’d offer more then what we’re getting from Lane that’s for sureYou think Moretti is capable of playing in the second row?
I've posted a few times that we have a roster where only 3 or 4 players would make anyone else's top 17... and I stand by it.Absolutely.
I think we have over-estimated the quality of our roster for a number of years.
We could get a group together and force an EGM of the Leagues Club. Use that to get 4 seats on the Board so we can sack everyone we don't like and put our mates in.I reckon we should sign one of those online petitions, staying that we, as members of the club, have had a gutful of incompetent front office management, and are demanding their sacking.
If we get decent enough numbers, they can't ignore it.
Even though they will.

Penisini is 22 years old, in a better side he’d have been in and out of first grade actually having a chance to develop his game in the lower grades while getting a taste every now and then to see how he’s coming along. Not us though, our backline has been so shit over the last four years that he will crack 100 games this season. The real baffling part is that he still makes the same stupid mistakes, it’s like no one is on him telling him what he needs to work on.Penisini is a concern, far too erratic and inconsistent

Or maybe he is just dim witted and uncoachablePenisini is 22 years old, in a better side he’d have been in and out of first grade actually having a chance to develop his game in the lower grades while getting a taste every now and then to see how he’s coming along. He didn't give anything up. He got everything the PO was worth and more. The only one to give up a PO was Drown, who gave up the future PO included in his current contract. He didn't give up the current PO either, he declined it.Yes, he did it by signing a new contract (with us, luckily) that was more favourable to him than triggering the optional PO - which ergo he gave up.
Seven of these merkins played in a grand final less than three years ago.I've posted a few times that we have a roster where only 3 or 4 players would make anyone else's top 17... and I stand by it.
I haven't done it this season, but last year when I did, it incl Gutho and RCG I think (but not Lomax).Moses
Brown
Lomax
Obviously that is unsupportable - but I love how you take the other extreme where no one is accountable for the fact that we only have 3 or 4 players up to the standard of this competition, that is of course a much more reasonable positionWe could get a group together and force an EGM of the Leagues Club. Use that to get 4 seats on the Board so we can sack everyone we don't like and put our mates in.

He gave up the opportunity to trigger his PO, because he chose to pursue a new contract with us instead. He didn't give anything up.
True, no disagreement there. He got everything the PO was worth and more.
Brown is the only one to not trigger his PO and sign a new contract elsewhere. It doesn't mean he's the only one to not trigger/decline/give up his PO.The only one to give up a PO was Drown, who gave up the future PO included in his current contract. He didn't give up the current PO either, he declined it.
And lots of them nearly got the Wooden Spoon 7 months ago. How many do you think would make the top 17 of any other club tomorrow?Seven of these merkins played in a grand final less than three years ago.
