I thought Tepai was good, except for his errors.

*shrugs*

To each their own...

Can it really be "except for his errors" when they were both so crucial? I mean yeah if he made two or three cheap but unimportant errors. But he didn't

Thankfully they didn't cost us as much as they may have, the penalty in particular was just so utterly needless.

He had a bad one last week too not catching a bomb

They were huge errors, but I thought he worked hard in defense, and ran quite strongly.

He's got plenty of work to do, buy with Ma'u back, perhaps Tep will snag a spot on the bench?

Imagine how shit we'd be if hayne hadn't decided to become an upside down vampire and was still there stinking the place up

On the flipside....

Oregon Kaufusi, 8 runs, 112m.

Now, yes, four of those were kick returns and they are easier....but even those he ran back like an absolute mad merkin to chew off every centimetre he could. He ran like Terepo whatever run he made, except he actually went through with it and bent the line.

Mahoney started the comeback. We looked like shot ducks in the first half, maybe a falcon in there as well. We're still a heart attack team, but I suppose that's part of our DNA. Still a lot to learn if we're going to be a serious contender this year, though that pipe dream is quite fanciful to be honest. We have some excellent players, but as a team we don't excel when the going gets the best of us, and that's to be expected of a team coming from the spoon. There were some dodgy ref calls that favoured us, but them's the breaks and we got the 2 points. Bankwest Bunker!

Eh.

5 missed/ineffective tackles out of 30 attempted. Not that good even by his standards. Did do a bit off the ball, but negated by two big, big f**k ups IMO.

I just think he needs another string to his bow anyway. He's gone from being a really hard runner to a plodder and now he's started to make dumb mistakes this year too.

He actually made ok metres tonight, nearby 100 m, not to bad for a more defensive player.

Yeah agree, missed tackles aren’t good, but wouId be interesting to see if they were “clear” misses or because he made a big effort to actually get to the tackle, but just wasn’t in position to finish it (but actually slowed the attacker thus making it easier to other defenders to finish)

Not sure of his stats and I can’t be bothered to check but I thought Manu off the bench was really good.

Nuikore is just a quality backrower in attack and D as well.. once we learn how to use him more he is going to be a gun. Will be a NZ player within the next 12 months.

Nice to win when you dont play your best.
Our kick chase and defence of our bomb diffusers is diabolical.
Fergos try it was him or nothing.
Salmons 3 kicks only he chased. The one to the corner was what Moses should have been doing all day but led to the "super try" by the Dragons due to an abysmal chase from everyone.
Not sure what to think of that win. Im sure weve played better yet lost.
Smile and enjoy Gaz.

Spot on. Kaufusi is a keeper!! Junior, Alvaro, Mannah, Kaufusi and Mau make an excellent middle rotation. We’re just missing one more quality middle I reckon.

Now, can we all agree that Gutho has earnt his contract or are people seriously going to continue pushing the line that we can bring in another quality fullback from nowhere???

Everybody aboard the Gutho bandwagon

Just my thoughts.

1. Merkins here have to stop writing us off after 20 minutes. Some of the comments were just plain stupid. "Same old Parra" for example. Well, we aren't the same old Parra. Even at 0 - 14 down, I still thought we'd get back into it. "Can't win with Ashley Klein". How did that go?

2. Salmon is doing a fine job at 5/8th. He is a good foil for Moses, as opposed to Norman last year when both our halves didn't really know who was to take control. Also, his defense is excellent, and on the odd occasion he will create a surprise in attack. Otherwise, he is one of those back up players that is depth. He's good depth.

3. Moeroa won't ever be a superstar. He's a hard working toiler. Didn't have his best game today but did a lot of work. Every team needs a player like him. We have some other flashy forwards who can do the fancy work.

4. Great to have Mau back. He's a beast.

5. If we can get our best team on the field consistently, we'll give this comp a shake. Never thought I'd say this but we missed Timmy today. Such a shame that Dylan Brown's season may be over.

6. 2nd great win in a row at our new home. This is how we create a fortress. Just like the Wanderers, Homebush has been an absolute f**king curse for the past 2 seasons for the Eels. We now have the opportunity to make other teams scared to come and play at Bankwest, even when it is their home game. Imagine the mindset of the Tigers when they play us there next. It's their home game and we put 50 on them last time. We only get this chance once to make opposing teams scared to come here, like the Storm, Cowboys, Knights and Raiders have done. We have to make the most of it.

7. Now is the time to get BA and Guth re-signed. It would do wonders for confidence and stability. Get it done.

** EDIT**

8. If we all thought we'd start this season with 5 wins from 8 starts, we'd all have been ecstatic and taken it. It's been an amazing turn around from our wooden spoon season last year. Keep the faith peeps!!

So you judge the quality of the player by the fact that he dropped a ball from a grubber.

Tep was solid today. No super star, but made nearly 100 metres and ran hard.

Can we add Moses to point 7?

FFS

Once again, I literally said he was a first grader.

I just think he's been in very poor form this year and it's started to show in dumb errors.
