Disagree on Brown, for mine he loses footing trying to pull out too late, so it's careless rather than reckless, and the resulting injury really shouldn't play a part in it.

I think resulting injuries should play a part in the resulting suspension sentence.

When someone murders someone they are charged with murder as opposed to if they are unsuccessful they are charged with attempted murder. Also the intent plays a big part in it too of course, if it was pre meditated or not pre meditated, an accidental death due to careless or reckless behaviour, then manslaughter is the charge. Also did the victim contribute to it in anyway? Which again can also influence sentencing outcomes greatly. All very different severities when sentencing takes place.

Why do we allow players to get away with very minor suspensions and others get more server ones for very similar infringements? Look at the Kaufusi one on Matto and then look at some of the other lesser incidents that have resulted in much harsher sentences.

I believe this is due to the way we only look at the offending players previous rap sheet. Instead we should look at ALL the details around a case and judge accordingly. Like intent, outcome and possible injury or actual injury. That way it would be a complete analysis of all the evidence and make more sense to everyone.

If this were the case right now, I think Brown would get 3-4 weeks and Marata would get 1 at most.

And get rid of the fines.

Have a demerit point system like drivers licence

They don't care about a $1k fine . But if they lost points towards getting suspended, they might be more careful

They could even have double demerits

My thoughts.

I’m surprised at how upset people seem over the game. We beat them and we’ll survive Dyl and Marata having a few weeks freshen up. IMO we are in the same league as Storm/Panthers and we should enjoy the ride and not give the Chooks another thought as we got the choccies and we’ll move on.

Waqa was alway coming back and we have good forward stocks to give Marata a rest before coming back into the middle which will make us even stronger.

Dyl can have a rest and come back better. Let’s be honest if Moses was facing 3 weeks out then we WOULD be worried!

Also, as many of you know I’m a Bondi boy and took great pleasure in my Eels beanie this morning getting the bride a coffee at my local cafe haha.

Have a look at the ladder and smile :ok_hand_tone2:

Maybe the fines should be a double whammy. Fine the player and also remove the fined amount from the club's salary cap. Might get some coaches to stop coaching that sh*t.

They do look at all this now, that's why you have gradings, and charges that use "reckless" and "careless" in their name, and that's why we get different punishments for similar incidents, because similar is not the same.

Personally though I think looking at the resulting injury shouldn't change the outcome of the charge, nor should it be influential as to whether or not an incident goes on report. An injury is a mix of a shit load of variables, many of which are completely out of the control of the individual player.

The player should be judged on his actions, and the circumstances under which those actions occurred. Particularly given league is a collision sport, and sometimes those collisions just go wrong, regardless of illegality.

Interesting just now on the Sunday Footy Show, with Fittler calling out Dyl. Said he’s had a very poor year with only 1 try and 1 assist and dropping more balls than any other half does, and that his head just isn’t in the game.

said the next 3 weeks makes or breaks our season in terms of what Dylan does and how he responds when he comes back as if he can’t provide a second point of attack for Moses we can win the comp.

Also said we should have been down to 11 players and Sam Walker would have carved us to pieces and we’d have lost.

Not sure how anyone would seriously defend the Drown knees. It was bad and deserves time on the sideline

Illegal play and punctured guys lungs.
Kafusi got 3 weeks for his Illegal play that ruled Matto out for a month.
Dylan's Illegal play may wipe Drew out for the year

Matto at 5/8. If he kills it and Stone or Greig hits form Browns in NSW cup

I have no issue with the players being suspended.

My issue is that the NRL or media are consistent.. Blowing up on Friday then yesterday Rapana hit Ponga in the head and nothing at all ..

So glad he has no former or current affiliation with the Roosters that would influence his unbiased commentary.

Typical media buffoon. Dyl will come back, have one good game and he will want to boof him. Additionally Dyl scoring the last try and putting his beloved Sombrero Cheats to bed hurt bad. Fancy this barefoot, wheatgrass drinking idiot being our SOO Coach. Little wonder we lost to the worst QLD team ever last year. He has by far the better squad this year. Let's see if he can fu*k it up again. The way he used Junior last season was a disgrace and showed he's still the same no talent Roosters Coach he was years ago. No surprise club's aren't beating a path to his door. Fool. Stfu.
Too much? Lol.
