Unlike Bec, the utter cynical dishonesty she was known for looks to be well and truly alive.

Gee the media like to try and pump up the popularity of their own, its like a boys club despite what they may have or have not achieved.

Mot people that followed her on Twitter seemed to do it so they could take pot shots at her.

All I can say is that our game will be portrayed better moving forward. Hopefully there will be nobody going on various media programs all around the country to constantly bag our sport. Nobody considered by their employer " a rugby league expert" yet openly passionate and supporting of a rival code. It's ok to be fearless when you know you'll never be sacked no matter what you do.

Bullshit.

News will just get someone to ramp up the vitriol against the code. You know this will happen.

This latest tirade on Bec is a disgrace. She obviously battled cancer for quite some time.

Be ashamed of yourselves you bunch of heartless merkins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've limited previously myself to saying 54 is very young and that this must be tough on her family, but that I had zero respect for her work as a "journalist", but will expand a little in response to this.

Dan Ginane put it well on Triple M last night I thought when he pointed out that for the vast majority of people all they say was a 2D character that she intentionally presented to the world; one that was provocative, offensive and downright disrespectful by design.

That's a fair point, and that's why I say this must be tough on her family and friends, for whom I'm sure she will be a huge loss. But all the same, we're not her friends or family, and whilst I don't agree with the nastier things people have written ultimately Wilson was a symbol for everything wrong with journalism today.

She had zero interest in the truth, pursued numerous very personal vendettas against people she didn't like (just look at the infantile and petty way she carried on about Gal this year) and was happy to print innuendo and rumour with little regard for how it affected people.

I'm sure she was a loving mother, daughter and great friend, but that doesn't change the fact she was still a dreadful journalist that fed hate, lies and slander.

For me, she will not be missed.

I saw an article from Caroline Wilson saying that whilst she loved the swans she never let it effect her professional judgement on them.

I could be wrong, but I thought it was confirmed that she had been a paid Swans Ambassador for years
