Ray Price...'The Price is right...' He has got the qualifications, Pride and Passion - that's what's needed apparently to run the Club as a CEO.

Ray has been telling all and sundry for years what is wrong with the place. He deserves a go at the top just to prove that he does know best. There is, apparently, nothing to it. After all, Fitzy is just an ex potato carter!!!!

Ian Thomson (Many) and Paul Dunn (South) were ex-footballers and they had a go as CEO's - Pricey was a better player than both of them, and probably prouder and more passionate. He should be a shoe in for the position....

So.... no sour grapes then Pete?

Yeah...he'll be great for the CEO position..

As much as I respect Parra Pete I have to say the job of CEO is one which involves, inter alia, marketing, sponsorship, contract negotiation and baby sitting over-pampered NRL stars. I'm not sure Ray Price would like that job. Indeed, I believe he would be more useful on the board where he could set the direction for the whole club with his board colleagues.

Fans expecting "a name" to step forward as the next CEO....should it become available in April or sooner... will be disappointed to learn that the most suitable person for the position is someone we have never heard of. He or she might be someone from completely left field, a professional from the marketing or sporting world perhaps.

Indeed I would prefer that than a "jobs for the boys" approach we have seen in the last decade.

Open the positions up for the best people!

If I was Denis, I WOULD.
The dog has caught the car, let's see what it can do with it....
The members have exercised their rights. The people have spoken.
You have nothing left to achieve Denis.
Thank you to the outgoing members of the Board, particularly Alan and Don Ritchie. Both champion gentleman and great workers for the Club.
The King is Dead, Long live the King...

But, but... according to you, he is the best man for the job, so if he truly cared for Parramatta, should he not stay and help what will be a transitional period for all involved?

It seems to me that you are suggesting he quit for his own good, in spite of the club.

You have just highlighted one of the major issues that this new campaign has been about - eradicating people who make decisions for themselves first and the club second.

Pete, you have claimed that everyone else wants to get rid of Fitzy because of personal vendettas but now you are saying that he should quit right away so as to leave the new team high and dry on day one. That sounds like a bit of a personal vendetta to me, and it's just typical of the spiteful, petty crap that supporters of Denis have been carrying on with for years. And soon it will be gone FOREVER. WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Yep, if I was Fitzy I'd call it a day, sit back relax and enjoy his well earned retirement. Go to the footy and enjoy it instead of worrying about dealing with the issues like sponsorship.
You need Pride and Passion Denis. Your thirty years at the helm has been unappreciated. It is time for a new broom to sweep everything clean.
Head em up, and move em out.....

Absolutely NONE. Democracy worked today.
Like newspapers and politicians, you get what you deserve. Good luck to the new board.
I admire blokes like Donny Ritchie and Yoda for what they have done for the Club. I know I appreciate their efforts, and I'm sure those who know them will also.

That's good then Strider. Thank you for letting me know that.
Don't get me wrong..I reckon Denis should quit now and make it a clean break for the new people. It looks like a line up of past players - Hitman, Jethro, Pricey, Brett, Eric Grothe (or Growth according to Tele) Dr Johnson and Chiddy Chiddy Bang Bang to guide the fortunes of the current players....

BTW, I wonder how much influence the failed members of the 3Ps will have on the elected members..Will they be pulling strings?

Then why the sarcastic remarks about Pricey being CEO? You are full of s*** Pete.

See what I mean? You can't just say congrats and leave it at that.

As do others Pete. But that doesn't mean they should stay on the board forever.

I'm sure the board life of the new guys - if they do well (and yes Pete, I can acknowledge that they might not) - will be limited too. That's the nature of these things.

Now that is an interesting comment. My major criticism of the new ticket is that I thought they should have put emphasis on the businessmen running, with the legends supporting the businessmen.

Of course, they might not have won this way, but it would have made for a more effective board lineup, especially with Hilditch and Gerard already there.

Agree with Pete - if Denis cannot see a future with the new board and having to work with them, then the best thing for everyone involved and the club is for Denis to leave now with dignity and on his own terms.

An interested spectaor at the AGM today was Parramatta Life member and current Cronulla CEO Tony Zapia.

They wouldn't have won if they had done that. Sad but true.

From North of the Border, I know my fellow QLD Parra supporters are cheering today. Unfortunately we aren't lucky enough to be voting members, or even lucky enough to turn up to see the events up close but this Forum is Gold to us, it's the only chance we get to mix with the passionate Parra supporters and personally I have enjoyed sitting back and reading these forums for the last couple of weeks. From my point of view, thankyou to you local Parra supporters for todays outcome, you have made the wider Parra community very proud today. I really look forward to the Might Eels coming up here next April to take on the Drongos! and what better time, right on my birthday!!!!

When all is said and done, the new board can only do so much, it's the blokes on the field who have to perform and they are the ones I pay my $65+ on Foxtel fees to watch every month to watch play. I really hope 3p give us northerm fans a chance to have our say (and maybe a sticker;P).

2009 is looking like a great year for our mighty Eels!! Thankyou local Parra supporters!

not really an issue if the board are smart enough to put the right people in place where their expertise lies and call upon their advice when they need it.
the job of the board is to now ensure the club is heading in the right direction with everyone doing their job properly.

Snoochies, can I just say - and this goes out to all the other Parra supporters in Brisbane that regularly frequent this board (and those that don't) - that I went to Suncorp for the first time last season and the Eels fans up there are second to none. If we could get the people at Parra stadium to make as much noise as the Eels fans that go to Suncorp then no-one would ever beat us at home! I'm just glad that the local fans could repay you guys for the great efforts that you make flying the flag up there.

I agree, and hope they can. Personally, though, I would prefer a more diverse board. But I'll take this one anytime over the old lot.

Mmmmm. Things are in place now..If the People Power can get just rid of Fitzsy - the last evil element in place - things will be rosie, and no one will have anything to be grizzly about.
The new coach will work wonders, the players will all display passion and pride, tries will come..the team will live up to its potential. No more boofhead actions by players, the Stadium will be full, sponsors will appear, membership will grow, the Board members will be forever on the forum letting us know their every move.... I can hardly wait.....

This little poem reminds me of it all

It was crisis day in the parliament
The house was hushed and still.
A member rose with a question
“Are we doomed to go downhill?”
“I am confident of an upturn”,
The PM made reply.
“If workers pay is held at bay,
We'll all be home and dry.”
“How true, how true”, cried the workers.
“Let's end this wicked strike.
We don't want a rise in wages,
They can stick it where they like.”
“Thank God, Thank God”, sobbed the bosses.
“There's faith on the factory floor.
And now we've got this extra lot
We'll give it to the poor.”
They filled their pockets with money
And ran with eager feet
Pressing their surplus profits
On the people in the street.
They moved among the dole queues
And boarded every bus
With streaming eyes and heartfelt cries
“You need it more than us”.
Soon all the people prospered
And the devil became a saint
Now the sober unions
Had exercised restraint.
The cities were filled with singing
And the sound of laughter spread
As hand took hand in the golden land
and pigs flew overhead.

massive sour grapes from pete ....but ....ya ...we all support parra at the end of the day ....and people voted and the best men for the job are in.

thats why ya vote!!!

i have met Alan O at the club a few times ..and i like the bloke ..but it is time for some fresh ideas. it just that simple.

i really believe the only downfall of the current Leagues club boards is there unwillingness to get the supports more involved.

and if things dont change pretty quick i would be thinking they will be making a exit also.
