The starting front and second rowers are getting on. Hard to see them ripping in for a full season.

Obviously with the half backs being so crucial to any team the options for Dolphins ,for 23 at least, seem slim. Looks like Milford is likely but is he someone you'd be excited about seeing in a Dolphins jersey? The other rumours are Blake Austin coming back. I suppose if they manage to snag Ponga it will be for the 6 jersey you'd think? Hard to see Storm letting Munster walk for '24 but you never know.

Other halves on the market for '24 include DCE, Shaun Johnson, Latrell Mitchell, Cody Walker, Ben Hunt, Moses Mbye, Sam Walker and Jackson Hastings.

Kodi Nikorima will sign next. Halves utility option.

That’s a typical Bennett recruitment. Stack the team with a lot of experienced players. I hope they’re planning for the future. I think Souths are in for a rocky few seasons post Bennett

Still a season of footy to be played before they come into the comp. Until 2021 not many knew who Nicho Hynes was, certainly not many would have labeled him a FG halves option but look at his stocks halfway through the season.

And he was off contract at the end of the year so available to move on. If he had 2 more years on his contract do you think Storm would have let him walk after the contribution he made to the team? Besides its still highly questionable how good a half back he will make given he made his break through at fullback. They can only sign who is available

I agree, Storm were never going to give Hynes the money he is getting at Cronulla. Most of the Dolphins signings were never going to get a new deals at their existing clubs. I don't believe they have spent a great deal of money so far. A lot will happen in 12 months and they should have plenty of coin to spend on disgruntled players.

Its not 12 months, pre season starts in 10 months now and thats quite a gamble hoping someone gets the huff with their existing club. Its interesting Ponga is still holding out at Newcastle, still some hope there. Maybe they'll just take the hit in 23 and try and sign big for 24, theres some decent names available for then.

I wouldn't even bother with Ponga. Let Newcastle keep paying him overs for his ordinary performances. It's not like he lifts them.

I guess if they get Milford and Nikorima they will have to make do with them as their first year halves until something better comes along. Hopefully they get them both at a knock down price.

I still believe there are players out there, even in Intrust Cup. Fogarty is a great example of players given an opportunity. I am not a Milford fan, but dirt cheap he is worth the gamble. There are still some good players unsigned for next season.

Regarding Milford, Bennett has a decent record of simplifying a player-makers role in the team. He got the best out of Jamie Soward so there is hope for anyone.

The Chad will be available by the end of the year with the Cowboys paying half his freight.

Sharks fans are carrying on scorned Ed lovers regarding the Chad. In all seriousness though, $800k for Chad Townsend has to be the worst recruiting decision in living memory. I know it is hard to recruit players to Townsville but Jesus they should have anything else with that money

Toddy will have difficulty picking 2 halves out of Chad, Dearden, Drinkwater & Hampton. May as well play Granville at 7, at least he has a dig.

Drinkwater is hit and miss but at least there are some hits occasionally. The rest of them are very ordinary. What happened to that kid Asi (spelling)?. He looked like he had some potential from what I saw.
