I think youll find that the Bulldogs wanted Burton to be released early but he never actually sought one from the Panthers
Matt Burton has opened up for the first time on his contract tug-of-war, revealing he approached the Panthers at least two times to request an early release.

Yep same with Ado-Carr. He wanted to move back to Sydney straight away for 'family' reasons but Storm said no and he played out the remaining 2 years of his contract. Walsh just wants the big money a desperate Dolphins will throw at him (rumoured to be $1.3mill a year), Warriors should hold him to his contract.

Fair enough

Panthers were well within their rights to hold him to his contract......however im sure if the relationship broke down far enough then they'd have negotiated an out. Its certainly happened plenty over the years and will continue to

The Dolphins are understood to have signed highly-touted Panther junior Isaiya Katoa to a reported three-year deal.

A New South Wales junior, Katoa is rated as one of the most exciting halves set to land at senior level in the coming years.

The younger brother of former Penrith rake Sione Katoa, Isaiya would face a difficult venture to break into Ivan Cleary's squad given the Origin-calibre playmaking duo of Nathan Cleary and Jarome Luai.

While the Panthers have been keen to retain the teenager, a News Corp report suggests Katoa is set to link up with the NRL's newest club in making a switch to Redcliffe.

Gold Coast forward Jarrod Wallace is reportedly set for a reunion with Wayne Bennett at the Dolphins in 2023.

The Courier Mail reported Wallace is in talks with the Dolphins and is likely to leave the Titans where he has played since 2017.

The 30-year-old is reportedly on a deal worth $600,000 at the Titans with the club unlikely to be able to compete with the Dolphins given he is approaching the end of his career.

Wallace has history with Bennett having been coached by him at the Broncos for two seasons in 2015 where they made the grand final and 2016, before he joined the Titans.

Wouldn't the local juniors be included in the current feeder teams Redcliffe and the Capras. There is more to an NRL, team then the squad of 30.
Some numpty on here was claiming most of their squad would come from the qrl cup and they wouldnt be raiding other clubs lol. You’d hope there’s at least a few qrl cup younger players ready to make the step up with the opportunity the dolphins brings for more playes in the comp?

Considering Redcliffe have this year to run on their feeder arrangement with NZ, I doubt you'll see any signings officially come out of the QCup until later in the year

Aside from the few guys on Warriors contracts, everyone signed to Redcliffe beyond 2022 will obviously be on board "The Dolphins" already

Rising star Izaia Perese is set to sign a two-year deal with the NSW Waratahs, after reported interest from new NRL franchise the Dolphins in luring him back to rugby league.
24-year old Perese departed the NRL after two games for the Brisbane Broncos between 2019 and 2020 and return to rugby union, his first love.
The return paid off with two Wallabies caps at the end of 2021, with the hard-hitting Queenslander having earned the admiration of national coach Dave Rennie.
According to a report by the Sydney Morning Herald, Perese will re-sign with the Tahs to remain at the club until 2024, with his contract including ‘a substantial Wallabies top-up’.
The news comes after a reported push from Wayne Bennett and the Dolphins to bring Perese back to the NRL, though the 24-year old is reported to have never truly considered a move.

The Redcliffe Dolphins are circling St George Illawarra young gun Junior Amone as the NRL’s newest club continues to make waves in the player market.
Amone is under contract until the end of 2023 but with Red V skipper Ben Hunt owning the no.7 jumper and rookie half Jayden Sullivan also signed until the end of 2025, it’s the old three doesn’t go into two scenario.
The Dragons have also signed Moses Mbye as a utility, so once Sullivan returns from his latest hamstring strain coach Anthony Griffin will have a decision to make.
When supercoach Wayne Bennett picks up the phone, players listen
The Dragons have been aware of the Dolphins’ interest since before Christmas.
Amone has looked right at home playing alongside Hunt in the opening two trial games and is clearly an NRL player-in-waiting.

Melbourne Storm star Cameron Munster says his "intentions" are to remain in Victoria amid interest from NRL rivals.
The 27-year-old is off-contract at the end of 2023, and the NRL's incoming 17th franchise has been extra picky with Storm players, which has seen brothers Kenny Bromwich and Jesse Bromwich, as well as Origin star Felise Kaufusi, all sign deals with the club from next season.
While Munster's name has been heavily linked with Wayne Bennett's Dolphins, the Storm star says his plans are to remain in Melbourne.

"I'm not making too many decisions at the moment, but my intentions are to stay here as much as I can," he said.

Munster also spoke on his relationship with Bellamy, who he says has been a key factor in keeping him in Melbourne.

"A lot of staff and players reckon I'm on his will, they all think he's my dad," Munster joked.

The Melbourne Storm are on the verge of securing the new Purple Regin Big Three with future Australian hooker Harry Grant and Kiwi Test halfback Jahrome Hughes poised to re-commit to the club on a package deal worth around $6 million.

Storm chairman Matt Tripp has been handling the negotiations about securing Melbourne’s foot print as one of the NRL’s benchmark organisations for the past six months with both Grant and Hughes close to putting pen to paper on upgraded and extended contracts.

The move is a major win for Melbourne after supercoach Wayne Bennett and the Redcliffe Dolphins had made a major play to try and convince both players to join the NRL’s 17th team in 2024.

rant, 24, is poised to agree to a two-year extension until the end of 2025 with the final two years of the deal tipped to average around the $1 million per season mark.

Grant had met with Dolphins coach Bennett and recruitment guru Peter O’Sullivan with the NRL’s 17th team believed to have offered the Queensland State of Origin hooker more than $1 million per season to become a marquee signing.

But the Dolphins were told over the course of the weekend the Storm hooker was leaning more towards remaining in Melbourne.

Looks like Munster is the new marquee target for Dolphins for 2024. Out of the big 4 he's the one Id be least disappointed to lose from the Storm line up.
lol at Braith, his manager wtf?, spilling the beans on NRL360.
