Ref and Bunker Decisions

Funny how Robbo is treated by the press, and the NRL will alude to other coaches being whingers, and ignore them until Monday afternoon

There will be a grovelling apology issued from the NRL to the Chooks by about 5pm this afternoon.

for the sin bin or the knock on in the lead up to a try. Of all the games to whinge about something he really picked the wrong one, an apology would be spineless

And so there should be

It's getting a bit old though, this is three 6 point losses in a row where we have had to deal with shocking bunker decisions.

The knock on seems to be the great equaliser in many people's minds to justify the rubbish bunker decision but they are not comparable. The ref missed the knock on, it happens and there will be swings and roundabouts with live decisions like that around knock-ons and especially forward passes.

The bunker though cannot be consistently getting these things wrong when they have an eternity to look at it. They clearly just don't know the rules which is a complete embarrassment.

Once he complained about the Dom Young send off, he lost any credibility to complain.

As for his complaints with the two bunker decisions.
- Katoa Try - The rule is that the player should not lend weight to gain an advantage. NAS provide a touch but I don't think there is any weight added to the players momentum. In the example of the NRL video at the start of the year, Annesley specifically points out where a player's momentum was stopped and then players behind provided more momentum. Fair try IMO.

- Coates Try - This is a player contesting the high ball that gets knocked over whilst in flight because Connor Watson is providing a block to where the ball is landed. Watson is never going to contest the ball and is only there to prevent a contest. The disruptor is for players making no intent to catch the ball, the Storm player clearly was.

Besides Jennings knock on before the Manu try?

How about the Collins knock on from the kick off? Or the late hit on Hughes that went unpunished before Munster was binned? Or the obstruction penalty that cost Melbourne a try, when it was Keary who made the defensive decision to tackle the lead runner?

Yes, mistakes were made for and against both sides but only one coach blew up!!!!!!!

Robbo how about worrying about your own team's performance.

Robbo is just following in Ricky's footsteps. Regularly whinging over the years so all it takes now is for that shrill voice and stupid (incredulous) facial expression and he is automatically labelled as a whinger. And just as with Ricky, no journo has the stones to call him out on his bullshit.

Sutton got you over the line last week. Robbo didn’t have a problem with that.
Last week was probably the worst the reffing has been against us, thankfully we overcame it to win

Remember that bunker pearler where they inexplicably ignored the high shot on Collins and then they charged the bloke. Sutton telling Keary with only 10 seconds left to use a ball in the spares bucket then blowing a penalty was a good chuckle to and then the next night the same thing happens and time is blown off. Oh and let's not forget when Sutton let Gagai take a quick tap but he got smacked, losing the ball and then he calls it back lol

NAS ran in from some distance and pushed the players, you can't do it. It's not down to opinion. He bends his legs with both arms outstretched and drives.

I agree he is not correct on the Coates try, no problem with that one although I will say this whole disruptor thing is a f**king mess so wouldn't surprise me if something similar gets pulled back.

So a trip is no longer a sin ban or a match ban. Go at it lads!
Who was the last person to get a ban for tripping? Farnworth got fined last year

The NRL made their bed with it not being a sin binning in round 2 when Luai didn't get binned and also only got a fine so it's a big lol that a Penrith fan liked your post.

I'm having a good old fashioned whinge, not denying that.

You have nothing to counter what I'm saying.
I would have far more respect for Robbo, and any NRL coach for that matter, if they came out and said post match "Gee we got a couple of lucky ones go our way today"
