Does anyone think that roosters pass was forward? It wasn't even flat imo.

And at a crucial time...

Teddy over running it made it look forward, given camera angles who knows, looked fine on the replays though.

Less of a howler than the Keary no bin, so suck shit.

The suck shit part is in general, not directed at you btw.

Looked it live at the game. On the replays not so much but a square up from the non sin bin earlier in the game.

Fairly predictable the smug fans defending it. Remind me about the sinbin call, it rings a bell but the beer haze is on.

Its funny watching it last night i had no problem when it was called forward but a couple of different news reports showed it today from the side on angle and it was a perfectly legitimate pass. Do i think Easts could have gone and won had the pass been called correctly and they scored, probably not but at 24-16 it would have made it an interesting finish.

Shirt grab 5 metres out from the line, on Henry, any another club match would have sent keary to the bin for a professional foul... suprise, suprise bunker didn't want to rule on it

Thats the thing. I'm not trying to defend Klown as he had a shocking game, but that one you cant blame him for, sucks for the Roosters in that moment, but it took some serious dick riding to get them in that position to start with.

From that point the whistle got put away and the Chooks went back to having nothing.

The thing with the pass also that Tedesco overran the ball and had to pull it back in which made it look worse than it was but the side on camera vision does show the ball going backwards out of Tupou's hands.
I totally agree the Roosters had nothing until Calvin Klein started giving them some leeway in the second half.

From the moment Tupou dropped the ball early in the game it set the scene for Penrith to control the game and the Roosters had no idea how to counteract Penrith's game plan, the only time they looked like remotely scoring in the first half was when Connor Watson charged the ball down. The first half was near perfect football from Penrith , it reminded me of the first half the Roosters played against the Storm in 2018 GF, almost mistake free football and put the opposition to the sword.

Annesley in his weekly pisstake wrap up saying that the massive reduction in penalties and 6 agains is not about the referees adjudicating differently; rather it's because of the quality of the games and the teams that played last weekend.

Honestly, I'm in admiration of the bloke. There's no way I could have stood there and said that with a straight face.

He's 100% right.

Manly decided to suddenly change their entire game and give away a half dozen set restarts and 3 sin bins after leading by a quick 18 against the hapless Tigers 3 weeks ago.

Then they decided to be completely different yesterday and be "a quality team" all of a sudden.

You know it makes sense.

And Melbourne didn’t take the piss 1 bit with their wrestle/holding down etc….

Storm had 100% set completions in 1st half and ended the game with only 2 incomplete sets.
Then in the second half, they gave away Zero penalties or set restarts, so were perfect in defence.

Sharks didn’t stand a chance.

That's because they spent most of the game standing offside! :D

The worst decision of last weekend was to not give Adam Gee a game. Was outstanding last year and again this year should’ve been appointed Origin series this year also, to now not even being in the top 4 refs in the game.

Seems like the NRL don’t like a Ref who lets the players decide the games.

The whistle wasn't "put away" when penrith were dominant in the first half, they got 5-1 or something like that penalties/6 agains in that period from memory so one could just as easily say that he was responsible there too. The point being that these swings in calls favouring one side happen every game

On the forward pass I agree with you, he made a judgement call at the time. It is what it is. As a roosters fan it's annoying he was right there and still wrong but you can cop those knowing over a season it should even out. Within the game itself, the core issue for us wasn't that call, it was the rubbish first half.

The Keary one was grossly inconsistent with the rest of the season. That's not Klein, that's the bunker.

Then you have the JFH "crusher". That probably is consistent as a penalty but shouldn't be IMO. When you back in to a tackle like that the defender should get more leeway.
