Refereeing inconsistencies

Not one but both Suttons are officiating the Dragons and the worst one is the field ref. They will be consistent and sin bin a Saints player or 2 that is for sure. It's going to be a very frustrating game this Sunday.
I can't wait to loose my voice while sitting in the northern concourse

Mind you, that's some family achievement. Both lads FG referees, and both interchange between worst and second worst.

Looked to me like the refs and Roosters took it easy on the Eagles last night. Imagine if Manly were clobbered by 50 last night? It just would’ve added to the embarrassment of the whole situation. This way, Manly looks like a team of brave players who took it to the Roosters against all odds.
Just another example of the
Referees & Bunker orchestrating games. Its become a real game of who
can CHEAT most. The Referees or the BUNKER.
With NEWS LIMITED choreographing the whole production. What a laughing stock the NRL has become. And they wonder why SOO has slipped so far down hill.

Does he go straight to the judiciary because he was sent, or does the MRC grade him as if he were on report?
Not quite sure but the commentators were suggesting it goes to to the MRC for grading which then determines the length but that seems an odd way to do it for mine,

Remember the game is now managed by Mr V'landys of NSW Racing fame. The same Bloke who had an audience with the Queen at Ascot. He wants to organise a horse race across Sydney Harbour Bridge on a synthetic track. This will be followed by an NRL season opener played on a floating barge in the middle of the Harbour (half time entertainment ? A Celebrity goal kicking contest where the ball will need to pass between the sails of the Opera House). Suggested date to tie in with the Mardi Gras. A real Entrepreneur our Pete !

Just cannot believe how JWH has yet again got off with a fine ? Cleary who is now a bit of a repeat offender for various dirty tackles will probably get about 3 if the Penrith club appeal .

But that big oaf from the Storm , Nelson - what ever - Solomonana has again showed that he has the grey matter of a damn coconut by coming over the top of the Warriors Egan jaw with his bluudy elbow - and nothing to be done about it . Perhaps justice is indeed blind ? ? ?

There is certainly one set of rules for the top clubs and another for the strugglers of the competition .

My conspiracy theories abound
1. It would of been more credible if Cleary got 6 (bit worse than others this year) and not be managed to come back for the finals as minimal impact to a team likely 3-4 wins clear due to F & A with 5 rounds to go.
2. Melb cant lose anymore players...it is not good for the game.
3. The Manly rookie.. yep a week suspension and easier to throw under a bus, others get a fine.
4. JWH I am ok with. Stop showing things in slo-mo always looks worse, fine sufficient as much as I dislike his raised elbow attack.
5. Tapine should get a week for a punch throw as was the case before but then there was origin where they are now fines for 5 punches thrown. We will see
6. Carrigan hip drop = ankle injury. Fui anyone!. It is Brisbane though.
7. Tigers were never going to lose the next game after last week were they not? The reverse lets hope for the Cowboys.

Interesting to see what Carrigan gets. If Josh McGuire does that he gets 6 months jail and a life ban from football…..but in all seriousness I think McGuire would get 8-10 weeks for that tackle. Literally snapped the guys leg in half.

1. I though the charge and penalty were fair, but Panthers will probably challenge the grading and win. I reckon he'll be out 4 weeks.
EDIT- just noticed Cleary accepted the 5 match suspension (see below picture), so scrub that last comment!
2. The NRL probably thinks that, and is the reason why NAS wasn't charged. If he played for any other team, he'd be out for 4 weeks.
3. Agree.
4. I'm not OK with it. Looked deliberate. Should be suspended.
5. Agree.
EDIT: Only gets a suspension- see below picture.
6. They changed the gradings after the Fui hip-drop. Precedent set by no action on JWh after his hip-drop on S'ua on ANZAC Day. S'ua injured and missing for about a month but no action taken against JWH. This may have been influenced by suspending Tupou for attempting to knock off Rava's head. You can't suspend two rorters players at the same time. Part of the NRL charter drawn up by Uncle Nick and Co.
7. Probably not, but the tigpies have played pretty well lately, especially the last two weeks. I also hope the refs are harder on the cows after last week, but we have two Suttons in charge this week, and it is us. Wouldn't be surprised with a caning in the penalties and multiple sin-bins.

Edit: Latest charges.

Another conspiracy Re 6.
Carrigan referred straight to judiciary which MRC say worse than Grade 3 so big time out...potentially.
However you watch now Broncos plethora of the worlds best lawyers will fight and use every known angle and scientific physics proof that get it downgraded to a....fine?. Oh Yes and a good time to bring in JWH hip drop inaction.

Did anyone watch NRL360 and the rubbish explanation by Patten of why Asofa got off. He dribbled on about separation, not enough force and they couldn't tell the point of contact and might have been the shoulder or neck. FFS, it cracked to poor players teeth, where do you think it hit and I am sure it was more than a tickle to crack 2 teeth. While I don't agree with all that Kent says, he quite rightly pointed out that when someone throws a punch there is previous separation so why do they still get charged.

The NRL should be embarrassed with the MRC's explanation and should call an emergency meeting and sack Patten and whoever is on the MRC for incompetence. If the NRL hierarchy is happy with the MRC's explanation then they deserve what they get and junior numbers falling away and kids going to other sports.
