hmm interesting, he and palmer had some good chemistry in Cinci. Could be a great pick up imo

If Eli was playing this badly, he'd be all over ESPN, NFL network etc al... 0/3 and 1 INT already this game. Something is up with Rivers

I saw Eli in couple of the early season games and he was just awful. He didn't cop as much flak as he deserved. The Giants even made the Skins look good. Haven't seen these later rounds - but they've turned that corner it seems.

Not really, we've always had the talent but never been led properly.
I would agree with that.

Really? I think Eli gets a lot of harsh treatment from the media.
He seems to have a lot of haters.
His O-Line can really let him get hammered sometimes, I don't know what it's been like this year but last year he took a few beatings.

I recon eli cops way too much too
he didnt have a great year last year in terms of turn overs but i recon at least half of his INT's came off his receivers hands and all we heard was how bad eli was going

curse of being the lesser manning brother i guess

Call me crazy, but I still don't really rate the 49ers. I just dont think they've been truly tested yet. They'll win the NFC West, but being 6 - 1 doesn't mean anything. Look at Denver a couple of years ago when McDaniels first took over. 6 - 0 to start and then finished 8 - 8.

Although now that I've said this I'm sure they'll prove me wrong.

They'll win the west and probably end up with the number two seed and a first round bye.

I doubt the leading teams in the NFC South and East will finish with a superior record to the 49er's. Lions might but they are in the same division as the Packers so that rules them out.

I think it will end up like this:

Packers
49er's
Giants
Saints
Lions
Eagles/Bears

Their schedule is easily one of the best, if not the best
That will probably ensure 2nd seed, but i wouldnt be worried playing them in the play offs.

I dont rate them as serious SB contenders, they havent got the offense to compete with the best in the game, on their day the packers, saints and eagles will be able to move the ball on them and they dont have the offense to beat them in a shoot out. They are more than capable of beating those teams if they get them on a bad day though

They are a good team on the rise and if they get better at WR and QB they will be SB contenders.

Yeah the eagles already proved how easy it is to move the ball on the 49ers. Raider I agree that the offense will hold us back, but you are vastly underrating the defense

It's just the nature of the NFL playoffs system I think, it doesn't always reward the "best" teams. The Seahawks made the playoffs last year with a 7-9 record, while the Giants and the Bucs both missed out with 10-6 records. In saying that the 49ers do have a great record, but you could hardly call the teams they've been playing the best in the league by a long stretch. They've got games coming up against the Giants, Baltimore and the Steelers, and depending on how they perform in those, I might change my opinion on them

Tbh, i expect Eli will end up winning more rings then Peyton. I rate the Giants quite a bit. I definitely think they will be superbowl contenders.

That's OK, us Niners supporters like our team getting no credit, just makes winning all the more sweeter.

The Seahawks won their division and a playoff game. They deserved to be there.

You sort of illustrated my point. How does a team with a 7-9 record make it ahead of two teams with 10-6 records? The current playoff situation is how. It's a joke. A team with a losing record doesn't deserve to make the playoffs ahead of teams with winning records just because they're division is full of even more geniused teams, I'm sorry. Not to mention they got to play an injury depleted Saints team at home in that playoff game

It isnt just about records though. If the Bucs deserved to be there over the Seahawks, they should have had a better record than the Saints.

The Hawks went 4-2 in their division, where as the Giants and Bucs both went 3-3. This is the major difference. It can be argued that Seattle got in because of their superior division record..... Though, you will just argue that is only because the NFC West sucks.

The NFC West did suck! And barring the 49ers, it still sucks! But by all means lets reward a team who lost more games than they won, with a playoff spot, just because they were the best of the worst

If it was your team making the playoffs with a losing record we wouldn't be having this argument. The playoff system is fine, get over yourself.

i agree its a joke teams with a better record miss out on the playoffs for worse teams that win a terrible division/s
