Reilly To Newcastle

Both Sunday papers published articles on the very real posibilty of him coming back here next year. He is quoted as saying he is very interested as his son and grandson are living in Newcastle and he and his wife have considered moving here for some time. Apparently the only hang up may be Hages, Reilly offered Hages the assistants job when he was here but Hages rejected the offer to go to the Mariners. Not sure if there's bad blood there or not, I wouldn't think so. If he did come back it would be more in a football mangers role Ala Gould at the Goosters, all this is apparently in the pipelines of the clubs restructure. Of course for any of this to happen we have to find the finance for it. But hey I think it would be great to have him back here, we could use some of his infuence back at the place.

It would be great and i think will do the club wonders. I hope there is no bad blood between him and Hages.

Yeah I read that article in the Telegraph too. They say he's no threat to Hages though cuz he still has another year on his contract.

Hages and Reilly. Good cop, bad cop. That would be awesome!

Yes they need discipline - For sure eilly would be lining himself up for the coaching position in 2007 which wouldnt be a bad thing. Maybe Steve Crowe may have another punch up with him once he ind out how Steve has seen the club go backward.

At least Mal would have some English contacts to bring some ESL players over cheap too

I don't know if I'd want him to coach - it's been a while since he has coached at the top level. If he oversaw coaching, rehab, conditioning, selection, etc - then fine. But to actually coach the team, we need someone more in touch on how the game is played these days.

Good call - the game had changed a hell of a lot in that time. He would be great overseeing Hages..... but then again I think Hages is a little out of touch woth good coaching techniiques too as we will see next Wednesday night

Reilly stated he isn't interested in coaching the side. He's looking at overseeing the football operations. Recruitment, conditioning, specialist coaching etc. The things we are crying out for. I would assume he would also be available to give the odd foot up the arse when required though. LOL.

Maca thats the ONE thing Tyler MAY be USEFUL at - Getting Mal back seeing he creedits himself with single handedly bringing him here the first time.

Mal's son has been in Newcastle ever since his Dad returned and is well settled here - works as a finance broker / life insurance guy
