Bullshit. He is one of the better defenders in the comp, probably the best defensive centre. Penrith really missing him this year and he was an outside shot at playing origin last year as a fill in.

He may of got a lot of hype early in his career but that doesn't take away from his talent.

IMO yes. Who is better? Matai or Morris maybe, Matai can pull off better shots but he gets caught out more so imo he isn't better, Morris I can accept but Idris is a lot more intimidating. His positioning and decision making of when stay out or go is almost perfect and he can hit with the best of them. Can get beat for speed but his positioning is so good that rarely happens at all.

Matai and Morris I can accept. Hodges not anymore(or ever imo). Takarangi is a good one though I don't watch him much. The rest Jamal has covered comfortably.

A year ago I would of said Whare but he isn't defending as well as he was back then, possible due to the revolving door he has had inside of him this year and last but anyway.

Besides Jamals timing and positional play he is just way more physical than anyone at that position, he regularly dominates forwards in tackles on his own.
