Boyd for Australia.

McManus, Mullen, Roberts and Scott (also captain) for country.

Congrats to all. Roberts probably a bit lucky given his form I think but they often give these jerseys to promising young players sometimes regardless of form. I don't know what the deal is with Leilua not getting a gig for City however.

Snowy has dropped a long way from playing for Australia :(.

I dont think its because Snowden is going bad, its just that he is no longer on the Radar.

I think Scott is definitely penciled in for NSW considering his appointment as captain for Country.

Also Gidley not named possibly means he will be playing for NSW.

Snowden's just not going as well as 6 or 8 other blokes.

Congrats to Beau Scott. He deserves it. I hope this game is treated as an Origin trial this year, with the standouts on the cusp of selection for NSW.

I think Tyrone is lucky to get a jersey.

Boyd's selection really devalues that Australian jersey. He does not deserve it at all.

I suppose Gids deserves congrats on his Origin selection???? Really can't work out what they are thinking there.

Roberts is pretty lucky to get the jersey given the injury to Kelly but I have no doubt he'll make the most of the opportunity. His form in the latter part of last year was certainly deserving of the opportunity. Could do well for him confidence wise.

Scott's captaincy is awesome. Certainly deserves it and hopefully it leads to a recall to Origin. His defence is just incredible and general leadership around the park will be huge for the Blues.

Mullen and McManus' selections are no surprise to me. Well deserving and Mullen, for the second week in a row can show how much better he is than Reynolds...only this week he gets to show both of them.

And lawl at Boyd. Shouldn't be anywhere near it but if it kicks him into form, I'll take it.

That's what I'm hoping from these selections, a bit of confidence in the guys (and no injuries).
I think Tyrone will learn quite a bit getting this chance. Hopefully they can rack up a good win and get Mullo back in Origin.

Being a QLDer it's pretty hard seeing our guys play for NSW, and want them to do well but not too well, but it'll be great for them.

Yeah I am in the same boat, would love for Mullo to get selected and carve up, but still have QLD win.

Best thing about Roberts getting picked is that Mullen gets to play 5/8. I think they had him down for the country halfback spot otherwise.

BJ probably deserved a city jumper.

It's really good for Mullo that Tyrone was selected. He won't get in his way, and it will really let Mullo showcase his kicking game without another halves partner fighting for the limelight.

He couldn't ask for a better setup for an origin recall, his hammy just has to hold up and he need to out play Reynolds again.

Man I hope Mullen carves up and ends this debate once and for all.

Reynolds is a good player but a combination of him and Pearce is just a recipe for another failure. I'm certainly no Pearce fan when it comes to Origin but a combination of him and Mullen is one of the better ones they could pick. Mullen can take the pressure off Pearce, especially by shouldering the kicking responsibility, in a way that I don't think Reynolds can.

Awww who are we kidding.
For NSW It's gonna be Dugan at 1, Hayne at 6, and either Reynolds or Gids at 14.

This didn't occur to me. Very true, hopefully Mullen can shine cause as you said it seems like the CvC halves are always fighting for attention

Am I allowed to say I don't care for any of the selections. Sure its a great personal achievement but right now we are 2-6 and running second last.

Do we really need to send blokes off to rep footy right now.

Well, the alternative is hold them back and have disgruntled players, so yeah - I would say its pretty important we do. I get the sentiment though.

To be honest I think sending some of them off at the moment is a good thing. Let them play in some different teams and bring back a fresh outlook.

It's been bloody frustrating to watch CvC in the past due to this imo. Watching a bunch of blokes on the same team try to out-do each other, with near zero teamwork or will for each other to succeed, is just stupid.

I vaguely remember Carney and Mullo playing together for one CvC game, and Mullo just couldn't get a look in with the ball that night. Pretty sure we lost and the City guys got the bickies as far as the Origin callup went.
