Reynoldson a Knight

I agree Glenn, and i've adjusted that post. I am just filthy on Kirk. It just tops off what has been a very ordinary week to be a Melbourne supporter. Blowing off some steam!

Ned can get f***ed! He was given a chance, a career and a name by the Melbourne Storm. Then to repay us, he opts out of the last year in his contract and signs with Newcastle for more money. Ned you money hungry f***ing sellout.
You were a cult figure down here, I hope you never play origin and never get near a premiership with Newcastle you dog.

Don't worry, that animal in your club will sort him out.

You're a twat johnsmagic... I have nothing against Newcastle, but Kirk had taken on the role of media personality down here for Melbourne, and was what we needed down here to help promote the club and the game.

Oh I'm a twat now am I? How ever will I live.

Seriously, we know you lost a player, but every other team does every year. We lost Ennis, Tahu and Ben Kennedy this year who are all big losses but we didn't go abusing them. Respect Kirk's decision and grow up.

Damn right he was crowd favorite. He's one of the few distinct personalities and marketable players the Storm has in this difficult market. Not to mention all around great guy... We're all hugely and terribly disappointed with this loss. Good thing we kept Chan and Kidwell. We were chasing orford for far too long and far too much money and this is the price we pay.

The difference being that down here it is hard enough for the club and code to get any publicity, but Kirk had found a way to do that. This loss is as much about the off-field impact as the on-field one. That's what I'm angry about

Players leave clubs, it happens to every club every year. No need to be hard on him.

Joey Johns practically begged Reynoldson to join Newcastle in his Sunday Telegraph column the other day.

he imho, would be one of the better signings of the silly season

wouldn't have cost the earth like some, and not over the hill like others

he has been in really good form for over a year now and is no doubt on the verge of Origin

and with Hagan coaching him, I'd say he has a terriffic chance of playing next year

grats Knights

Oink !

LOL - all 3 Melbourne fans are affronted

Shame they weren't so affronted by Williams' actions!!!

Reynoldson will go well at Newcastle

I thought he was off contract at the end of this season :? and if he was then why don't you feel the same way towards all the other players who will leave the club at the end of the year

If he wasn't then you should blame the club you support for allowing him to be granted a release - something they don't have to do (look at the Dragons and Eels this year for example -Gasnier and Lyons) but hey thats something we all know you won't do

Reynoldson excercised a clause in his contract, to be released from the final year of his contract.

Besides Kirk we will see Danny Williams, Stephen Kearney, Rodney Howe say good bye.

Geez by the reaction of you Storm fans this has really stung. I'm guessing he was a crowd favourite. Why the venom?

Your right he is a crowd favourite and is popular amongst the club's supporters and in the club itself.

Reynoldson will be with the Knights at a cost of up to $250K per season according to today's Herald Sun. he's not worth that much as a player. Maybe newcastle needs him desperately so they just threw money at him.

I think a few Melbourne supporters here need to get real, there is no such thing as loyalty in professional sport. While we'd love to think if put in our favourite players shoes we'd stay loyal but the reality is we'd be just the same if rival clubs waved big dollar signs in front of us.

200k reported in newc herald.

even that seems a little over the odds...

I hope we didnt over-commit ourselves... for 200k he would want to be SOO quality.

Matt Geyer is loyal. So is Robbie Kearns, etc, etc, etc

So why can't we be angry at someone who has changed clubs just for money?
