But when you look at it, since Wayne Bennet started his coaching career, which was before Brisbane and Newcastle were admitted to the comp, you know who our biggest shining light as a coach has been? A bloke who played Corey Pearson at halfback. A bloke who persisted with Daniel Wagon at 5/8, without teaching him how to pass or run. A bloke who would text players at midnight on Tuesday "Are you focussed"? Brian f*cking Smith!!!!!!!!!

Point 1. He took a shit roster to the Minor premiership off his wrestling and holding down tactics. They got shit kicked by Melbourne at the pointy end of the season. He took the same roster to the bottom end of the table when the NRL changed rules on him before the start of the season and he couldn't rely on the scummy tactics.
He is not a shit Coach, but he aint the great some people paint him to be. He is a half back killer, but you blokes cant do any worse there atm.
Pont 2. The club imploded at the CEO level yes, The same wanker we got from, where was it? Great record of administrators from that club. The Board was a basket case well before Ricky was hired. He tried hard to keep things together, but the Bird incident was all too much really.
The advantage you have is that the imploding has happened before you hired him, just hope the front office in on track before he starts or there will be a shit fight on, because he wont stand for any bullshyte frm the Board or CEO.
