I would happily donate more than that, but 1 dollar is a good starting point for the NRL and a great way to encourage people to go to games.
Thoughts on what the punters views are on the $1 donation for each person admitted for rise for Alex round ?
Although a great gesture surely a 22yo paraplegic deserves more from the NRL
The Daily Telegraph is donating a $1 for every newspaper sold this Saturday to Alex. I think more should go to the young fella from the NRL

Its not like their gonna say "the round only raised $X, you cant have any more. even if you need surgery or something, you can piss off".
This is just a way for the NRL to connect the fundraising to the fan groups that want to help.
They probably dont want to lock themselves into more than is necessary ATM, but its not like this is it...

$2 would only be $1 more but it would double the amount raised

An even more appropriate move would be to spread the money around a bit and send some towards other unfortunate people who have suffered similar injuries.
McKinnon, for all his poor luck will have the backing of a multi-million dollar organisation that will come under media scrutiny to ensure they do the right thing by him.
Others will certainly not be in that position.
