No wonder they won. What a buzz that would have been. Reminds me of the panthers breaking all their home attendance records in '03 on their drive to the premiership

I have been a Balmain and Wests Tigers fan for my whole life (all 25 years) and I don't think I've missed a game a Leichhardt since 1987.

I couldn't believe the crowd today. At 1 O'Clock (2 hours before kickoff) there must have been 15000 people in. By 2.30 the gates were shut with 22877 people jammed in. People were sitting on the roofs of adjoining houses to the ground. I haven't seen anything like in since the late eighties.

Great crowd, great game, GO THE TIGERS!

Is that a ground record, not just for Wests Tigers but Leichhardt itself?

Unbelievable. Great news for Rugby League.

no... ground record is around 25,000 for an AMCO Cup final between penrith and someone else set in the late 70's from memory

I just got back from Melbourne and god 8K people can really make a sh*tload of noise at Olympic Park.
Well done to the Storm fans too.

Geez it wouldve been freezing down there, especially with the breeze and all.

Good to see a Melbourne victory and a very emotional crowd, especially after the comments from Dennis the Clown.
