The tool says the whole thing was a complete waste of time as everyone knew it was going to be an Aus v NZ final.

Does this f**kwit and many like him realise how close NZ were to missing out on the final?

It's very annoying but none of their mud will stick. We, as in RL, have had to contend with RL and non-RL people deriding facets of the game for the last 20 years and it's not dead yet.

The next world cup will look to the current one for inspiration. Sponsors wont go by slothfields opinions, they'll be sold on how popular the current ones been. Hopefully the media dont call the shots and hopefully Ch 7 get the gig.

Interesting that the head of a national body is also heading up the RLIF. It used to be the way for most sports, but these days most international org's have dedicated people running them.

Hope he comes out with the same BS next year when the netball world cup is played as we all know it wll be a NZ-Australia final as 11 of 13 have been and Australia have won 10 of 13.

But he won't as the media wouldn't dare do that to netball.

Funny how all the critics of the league world cup aren't league fans. I've yet to hear ONE player say the tournament is too long or a waste of time infact all I hear or read is how great it is and what a wonderful experience it has been.

I understand what you mean mate but two wrongs don't make a right. Netball, like RL, is perfectly entitled to hold a world cup even if Australia and New Zealand meet in the final for the next hundred years. They and RL shouldn't have to take any crap for it.

I remember that Liz Ellis (ex netball captain with a few friends) was on one of the nightly shows that 7 had during the Union wc of 03 and she constantly bagged RL the whole tournament even though it was a union event, lost a lot of respect for the netballers that year considering RL is far bigger and she couldn't wait to line up and continue to have shots.
