It's a flaw in the ratings system - the game rated 847k on Channel 7 and 69k on 7Mate but because it isn't classified as a "simulcast" when it's on different channels, the ratings aren't combined (MediaWeek and other outlets do a good job at combining these when reporting but other places don't).

Compare that to the Bledisloe Cup which was broadcast live on Ten regardless of timezone last week, so there is no split.

So the figures are not like for like! Showing that rugby league even outdrawing other codes on free to air despite not having this greater number of actual figures being included! Something that should be sorted when doing FTA tv ratings comparisons!

You use a lot of exclamation marks.

Great numbers

Rugby league should not be shocked at such numbers. It is clearly a supreme sports product. When I intimate that the game can do much better, I am referring to many things: like this game should have had a full house had it not been for inflated ticket prices and confusing purchasing sites that were concurrently online for unsuspecting purchasers whom were at times, told that tickets were exhausted etc. This is what I mean by things could be much better. Added to this, the free to air total calculation figure whereby two major Australian cities(Perth & Adelaide) are omitted from the figure for a rugby league game but these same cities are used for games featuring other codes like union or Aust. Rules. Just think these things can be improved upon.

Impressive figures. Any event which has a national peak of over 3 million is something that TV channels and advertiser's take note of (2.6m was Metro only, and we know that Regional had an average of almost 0.5m)

I'll be really keen to see today's ratings just to see what the appetite is for these other games.

? The total figures do not have all capital cities included. Perth and Adelaide are not in the statistics used for the tv tonight total ratings figure.
