Three games there and at Cairns is ridiculous. Canberra too. If Qld was paying for it they could have at least had a game in Mackay or Rockhampton.

In 2008 France v Scotland got 9200 in Canberra, Fiji v France got 9000 in Wollongong, Scotland v Fiji got almost 10k on central coast and Ireland v Samoa got 8k at parramatta. 5k would be a disaster.

Probably would have, and Newcastle deserve a game, but when governments are offering guaranteed revenue upfront, plus the gate, it's not really a difficult decision when the primary aim of the tournament is to make money to fund development. It's a shame the NSW government reneged.
