That wanker who f**ked up the venues and then pissed off needs tracking down and shooting. What was his name? Softcock didn't like being criticised. Well, no wonder he ran away.

Michael Brown, got sacked after going ape shit.

They went where the money was, didn't help that the NSW government withdrew their offer.

Should have been games in Newcastle, Gosford & wollongong

yep, looks like barely 3k there. But to be fair, this is the first match with no home team playing, so you cannot compare it to the other 3 matches.

Why would 5k be a good result?

In 2008 France v Scotland got 9200 in Canberra, Fiji v France got 9000 in Wollongong, Scotland v Fiji got almost 10k on central coast and Ireland v Samoa got 8k at parramatta. 5k would be a disaster.
Because I didn't have high expectations for it. It's not a disaster.

Can’t help but think this game would have got 15k+ at Newcastle
Probably would have, and Newcastle deserve a game, but when governments are offering guaranteed revenue upfront, plus the gate, it's not really a difficult decision when the primary aim of the tournament is to make money to fund development. It's a shame the NSW government reneged.
