40k in Sydney would be a great statement of its commitment to rugby league. Obviously this will not happen.

Yes. With plenty of English expats and the Bennet factor it would have been an attractive night out for international footy. Alas we got Melbourne and a 22000 attendance in a 31000 capacity stadium!

At Alliance in Sydney now and there is plenty of people here I’m tipping a biggish crowd tonight.

To be honest i thought there was more of a buzz last week with the lebanese supporters out the front at 5.30 with the drums and dancing.

Have some kangaroos marching band this week which was pretty funny.

Last week only a roosters membership tent. This week dogs, tigers and maybe souths have joined them. Plus deadly choices and a few other things.

Hope so! The Kangaroos deserve it.
Dont understand why the women tests were not a lead in game to a mens game at all cup venues? No doubt costs but the benefit to the womens game would have far outweighed logistic costs! Strange call from administrators. At least they have the womens final on mens cup final night in Brisbane.

There’s only 6 sides isn’t there?

The drums have just started and it’s a buzz here. I could be wrong about crowd but the buzz from the band and dj’s are amazing

I also just spotted a group of French supporters wearing Catalans jerseys and flags.

Wasn't a guess, I googled "population of Canberra" and it came up as 356k. So take your beef to google for not updating their statistics, jabroni.

yeah
try googling Canberras population for 2017
not 1997
K : )

PS I just googled it ( Canberra population 2017)... & got the correct population

Good weather! It shames the organisers decision to go to Melbourne for the England game as the opener. 20000 fans lost in attendance for this tournament.
Looks to be at least 20000 at SFS tonight.

Looks like its that same ref that butchered a game with penalties last weekend. Hes already made a crucial call against Lebanon. Hes a real game killer! He should not get a gig in the finals! But with these organisers hes a big show.

If this game out draws the Melbourne match then Sydney really has proven itself. 20K+ for this game is impressive and you would have to think they could draw 40K+ against NZ or Eng.
