Well it was a good tough close game. Brisbane where excellent.
Kikau and Korisau in that side and you win these ones. Will take a lot of time to adjust the attack.

Bit erratic at times and pushed the pass.

Wet weather didn't help.

Horrible fifth tackle options.

And Mitch f**king Kenny.

I was terrified all last year that Salmon or Kenny would be needed for an in game injury in a key game. Luckily it never happened.

We won a premiership with fifteen gun players and those two tagged along.

put Martin on the left, best backrower goes on the best attacking side. Also someone needs to tell Dylan to dig into the line a bit more when he’s getting the ball on the attacking plays.

Ivan's team selections have always been iffy.

But going into the season with Kenny as first choice hooker is an all time disaster
It's fine if he plays the first 20. Luke just needs to play 50-60. Ivan's nervous about our defence with Luke being a massive spot but Ivan just needs to stop being conservative for once and bite the bullet.

The wet weather made middle defence a non factor.

Waiting sixty minutes to bring on a player who can f**king pass off the ground was horrible coaching.

Shades of Tyrone May at centre in a wet weather GF.

We only gave up two linebreaks which is a positive just need adjust that attack to get a bit more out of it. Soni needs more minutes, Luai and critta need to be better in attacking ball. Without kikau Luai can’t afford to be kicking balls dead or throwing passes to no one on good attacking sets, just dummy and run if there’s nothing on.

Fair play to Brisbane, outstanding defensively. That’s the kind of game that shows building a defensive team isn’t always the best way to win, 2 soft tries and we threw very little at them in attack even with so much ball. With all the talent we have we really should be a better attacking team.

On the bright side we looked a lot better when Soni Luke came on, he’s only played a few games off the bench and I think it’s obvious he’s a far better hooker then Kenny will ever be, hopefully Ivan won’t be his usual stubborn self and use him far more.

What we learned was simple soni Luke needs more game time .the normal rotation is 20 on 20 off.Cleary coach my concern has always been our safety first footy 5 to go and we are still 1 pass run
Disappointing loss but it was only 1 point

Just from that performance, Tigers will make the 8, thats the difference between us now and us with A.P last year!

Ivan gave up on Garner during the game, should have given up on Kenny earlier. Martin to the left!

Clunky, rusty and disorganised in attack. Effort was there but not enough football smarts, Cleary was trying to do everything. Luai was still on vacation and Kenny offers so little in attack there is no space out wide. The defence just starts sliding. Once Luke was on and did his first run, suddenly the Broncos were forced to compress.

Garner looks a bit out of sorts at the moment. It will take him time to settle in.

I just don't get the love for Crichton. Solid. Steady. Good defender. Tick. His passing is below average and he is slow off the mark.

All the World Cup players look down on form. The lack of pre-season has left them rusty and below par. Let's see what we look like in a month's time when they get back in the groove.

My eyes said that the Broncos were allowed to get away with murder in the ruck. The play the balls speed stat confirmed it. The Broncos had half a second faster play the ball. The leniency in the ruck doesn't suit our game and we didn't adapt to the ref's interpretation. They won the ruck in spite of 5 ruck infringements. A player kicked the ball out of our hand in a play the ball and it was ruled a knock on. It was that sort of match.

I don't think we can dominate this year. We can still win it, but last year we were way ahead of everybody from round 1, this year we are back with the leading pack.

Knowing almost anyone in the opposition team has the strength to run at the guy and get a quick ptb to generate momentum as long as they aren't tired doesn't make defence a non factor. If anything tackling and strong contact is more important in the rain. Thus why you see so many upsets in the rain of teams that look mediocre on paper beating star studded teams. Basic things like tackling well matter more.
