Rnd 1 Vs Brisbane

I thought the effort was there, just not the execution & Brisbane are notorious fast starters to a season with a tendency to drop off, six odd weeks into the comp.

It’s been a tough period for him but Crichton’s worst game ever in Penrith colours, that missed intercept was so weak, defending on your try line when a one on one tackle was presented. Dribbled kick on tackle 3 in great field position, awful night! Hopefully, he hasn’t got ahead of himself & can regather previous year’s form because he is a brilliant player when in the right mind frame.

Momentum changed when Luke came on & Penrith became a threat from dummy half, created time for Yeo & those around him. We need to have a threat out of dummy half, pre Api we struggled to compete with the good teams. Luke has to play more minutes than Kenny at 9 & I love Kenny for his defensive mongrel.

Kenny has to still play big minutes, just not touching the ball more than anyone else.

Dissapointing to lose by one point. Garner did he not come off with HIA? Kenny I thought was reasonable but agree Soni Luke did add spark as expected. Sutton the referee allowed Brisbane to lay continuously in the takle not unlike WCC game.

No..I've posted positive comments many times after your wins...it was just a viewpoint about now needing to re earn your dominance...which you well may.
Is that the limit of your insight into open forum commentary? I'm guessing you're a First date Austraia kind of guy

hmm ok well we will see how open you are to Penrith fans viewpoints in that forum after your next loss.

Harsh to point the finger at Garner tonight, I thought he had a couple of decent line runs with ball in hand despite having very limited space. I think he might look better with Cleary feeding him the ball as opposed to Luai who cramped him most of the night. Martin to me was more disappointing given his quality and ability, went completely MIA after the first 20.

"you are?" as in me personally ?....totally
To add....you have some sharp posters here who a fair person can discuss football with...give me a little while and I'll figure out how to politely chat with you as well

We are playing Panther ball still, How quickly we adapt and evolve is key to where we sit.

The left side had no space all night, The right had a few chances and was poor in icing them

Yes “you are” meaning “you are”. There has been no impoliteness, just some viewpoints on open forum discussion.

To’o was very quiet, play him on his natural wing which I believe is the left. He looked out of sorts but I will need to watch the game again. Maybe I’m just drunk.

I don’t think it was that bad. Brisbane defended better than most teams will this year and the two tries we gave up were very uncharacteristic, the only two line breaks we gave up were those two tries so the defence is still there. Martin was over the line with the ball in his hands that would’ve won us the game right there. Give Soni more minutes and switch Martin to the left side that’s all we can do for me.

For me based on that performance we should finish top four but we won’t win or even make the gf with that attack.

Turuva runs the ball.back strong and tries hard but hes too small and slow on the wing, kenny is too slow with his service out of dummy half he cant start again 2 games 2 losses luke starts, garner looks too soft for mine in defence and attack much prefer hosking over him especially starting, the interchanges tonight were made way too late.Ivan got them horribly wrong and we looked flat and disorganised in attack.Brisbane defended well but we threw f all at them all night its a worry, only rd 1 but not good.

As I said earlier in the week. Brisbane had a very good side on paper with a nuffy at hooker and a bad fullback.

The nuffy got lucky and they scored a try after he f**ked a play and Cobbo was awful.

It's worrying that our hooker was worse and we never took advantage of Cobbo's multiple errors.

These stat's show that we had more than enough ball to win.

Reynolds beat Nathan with his kicking game.

And the losses of api and kiks is worth 6-12 points a game!

Playing garner and Kenny doesn't fix that.

I have no doubt we will compete. But Ivan needs to take a few risks this year.

Back Luke more. And try things with the 2nd row. Garner doesn't fit the balance of what the team needs. Neither will hosking as he's a like for like with garner... at least mav or Peachy offer something different in attack.
