You're right it's absolutely shocking. Considering they take up a large portion of our cap it's just not on

Let's not get carried away with this performance. We were well led at half time by a severely weakened "3rd grade" outfit who were further badly wounded during the game!!
The only good to come out of this game was Crichton's ability to take advantage of this poor opposition!!

Lets be honest though, the Titans never really looked ominous in attack; most of their tries were either due to luck or to lapses in concentration on our part. If we had lost this game it would have been due our own sloppiness rather than the quality of the opposition.

Crichton has really improved over the last year and should get even better. We need some more solid players to support him and Sam.

This is a Titans reserve grade side. The fact that we're down by 10 and not up by 10 just displays how woeful our side really is.
Turner was mainly responsible for letting in 2 tries. He let the Titan offload to Politoni and he stuck his foot out unnecessarily.

All he did at lock was was make 6 for 53m with a knock on too plus let 2 tries in and fall off tackles or get carried by the Titans.

He disappointed me.

Turner didn't make anywhere near enough hit ups or metres.

Thank god for that boys!! I was really worried at half time, like really worried. A Titans reserve grade side was sticking it to us and we looked so flat.

Then bam, a complete turnaround in the second. We looked good too. Tight defence, high energy and finally, some free flowing attack! How good was it to see us finally throw it round? A top performance in the second half.

Walker: Not a great first stanza but made up for it in the second. Defused a lot of their attacking raids and looked dangerous while attacking. Scored an awesome try.

Johnston: Great game from him. He's looked a lot more confident in his running since his switch to wing, helps out the forwards more and doesn't get rag dolled so much. Two trys, the second of which was amazing.

Goodwin: Solid once again. Made that early error but for much of the first half he was one of the only players that played with energy and desperation. His try reminded me of Gray, just out of no where!

Hunt: Also solid. Had a few errors but he was aggressive in attack and looked evasive at times. In saying that, I'd still like more.

Burns: Much better. Looked more comfortable and calm. Showed glimpses of what he can do.

Sutton: Wasn't bad in his milestone game. Seemed to go back and focus at what he's good at - running. Ran the ball more and kept the defence on their toes. His input into the attack was awesome.

Reynolds. Great (apart from the first twenty). He was awful in that first twenty minutes, shit kicks and passes all the time. However, to his credit, he turned it around and ended up having quite a good game. Controlled things nicely.

T.Burgess: Not bad. Damaging runs and had good impact starting and then coming back on. Hands and lazy defence is still an issue but it was better.

Farah: Great game. Controlled things nicely around the ruck and had a good kicking game. His dart which led to the Crichton try was sick.

G.Burgess: Not much game time but looked okay. Some of his runs were like 2014. But like Tom, he can be lazy in defence.

Fuimaono: Good job. Ran hard and broke plenty of tackles. Good defence too. He's a talent.

Crichton: How good was he?! God, he's amazing. Can break the line wide open. Three sick tries, sign him long term Souths.

Turner: Was good. I liked his runs, they were harder than in recent times. We missed Sam a lot but Turner did a good job.

Cook: Very good. His speed was evident right away. Caught out plenty of markers and he is finally taking tackles.

Clark: Top performance. Played big minutes and really stepped up. Seemed to actually have leg drive and he tightened up the middle defence. Big game.

Cherrington: Like Clark, he was awesome. Huge impact off the bench.

Musgrove: Best game all year! Ran so hard and made so many meters. It was him, Clark and Cherrington that gave us the go forward.

Credit to Gold Coast as they played well. But also credit us our boys for that second half. First half was awful but the second made me so proud!!
Turner was garbage. He played a big part in leaking 2 tries. He only ran 53metres and only 6 hit ups. Sam does triple that!!!!!! He also wasn't dominant in tackles.

Very disappointing.

The twins were also off the pace.

Cody started the season flying at 6 but dropped away a bit before his move to FB. Last season however he had better numbers at FB than he did in the halves I'm pretty sure and only got moved back to the halves because GI reclaimed his #1.
Like you say, it's all debatable and a matter of not only opinion but how people see games individually
Hey Travitoh, you were probably right this time. I did love the way AJ got involved and set things up for Crichton. As for Crighton -wow- who is the last Souths forward to score a hat trick? Anyone? Anyone?

In his debut game I knew this kid was class!

He is Bob McCarthy or Ron Coote resurrected!!

He looks like he knows how good he is too & that's a great thing;he exudes confidence!!

Time to tie him up long term without being tight with the $$$$$$$!!!

I believe Sam is the key to tying him up long term.

I think that's a pretty unfair statement though R20! The first try wasn't just turners fault for letting the offload get away it was also farah's and a Burgess twin! Plus walker got beaten by speed as the last man which is fair enough because he's not a fullback!!!

Second try was absolute bad luck it wasn't a good idea to stick the foot out like turner did but there was a massive gap when the try was scored as well which was quite suspicious!

While turner is not on the same level as Sam he's also far below him pay wise as well! Turner also covered for the Burgess twins sloppy defence in the opening 20. They were much more disappointing than turner. I just don't know what's going on with them? Especially George! He was constantly shifting to the right or left to make tackles because tom or George were too slow to get back! But all in all Turner goes better at prop it feels like which is why I want to see Murray!!!!!

Sam will be back for our round 17 match against the panthers (so our next match) and it was Sutton that sparked our comeback at half time apparently having a good chat to the boys! Good on ya Sutton!
He made some good options too last night. I thought overall he was better than AR.

Sutto gave Cody the chance too in a bit of space whereas AR kind of hesitated at times.

Next year though I do see Sutto signing on for 1 more season and I hope we play him off the bench!!!!!!!!

Rumour also is that AJ will be fullback next season. Time will tell...............

It was Turner and Tom's fault.

Also like Gould said he shouldn't have stuck his foot out. It's a recipe for disaster!!!!!!!!!

I think Turner doesn't have enough strength and struggles at times to put opponents down.

But yes George was much worse.

I thought Tom went ok!!!!!!!

When Sam comes back Turner goes back into his prop role!!!!! He's no good at lock or second row imo. His best position is prop and he must bulk up a bit more.

I think AR really stepped up in the second half. It looks like his lacking some confidence and I thought Farah helping out with kicking was fantastic! Sutton just needs to run straight and pass quickly! No kicking for Sutton!

Yeah but that's assuming GI gets injured again. I'm still not that confident with Cody at fullback but time will tell won't it?!

It was Turner and Tom's fault.

Yeah sticking your foot out in a situation like that almost always screws you in the end!

Turner has a good tackling technique but sometimes I don't think he realises how big he is. He lacks confidence so he doesn't tackle and run as hard as he could. If turner put his full body into some tackles I reckon he could flatten some players. Confidence will come with time!

For me tom and George look unfit. Maybe they just need shorter stints in the middle of the game where they can just tire themselves out and run like workhorses? Their defence isn't their strong point but if you bring them on one at a time it could work!

Yeah of course haha Sam is our best option at lock for now. Next year though!!!
