Rnd 6 vs Tigers

Fair enough mate. I must admit I'm a lot more lenient with Sloan than most, I just think the upside outweighs the downside (which is slowly being improved upon).
Ditto. A marked improvement by the kid, specially in his defensive attitude. Harsh call by Flanagan to hook him in those atrocious handling conditions. His confidence level probably dropped a niche or two after he was told that. I had figured it was a tactical move by the coach. Still he is back in his preferred position for this game.

the 2 worst games i have ever seen from sloan have been in the rain. On the weekend and then i think last year against sharks at shark park, perhaps the year prior. Surely we could organise some blokes holding hoses up and ben hunt kicking to him at training to improve him on it? other than last week i have been stoked with his form this year lots of improvement

Agree with you on everything except for Hunt kicking, I'd rather the ball boy do it !!!!

I am so glad Galvin is out and Bud is starting. If ever we are going to see what we are missing it will be this weekend. He will be so pumped to get one over Saints and BHunt especially I feel. Looking forward to the halves battle.

Obviously I am hoping Saints come on top but I think there may be some feeling between the 2 halves.

Watching Bula and then Sloan is what depresses me. How much better has Bula been is a bad team than Sloan. It would be interesting if both play as that will also be a good battle.

JDB off the bench is a smart move I feel. Flanno simply does not trust the bench without JDB. Last week and I think against the Cows, when the bench came on the team suffered big time. He needs a reliable guy to come in and maintain their start as they usually start well and then fade as soon as the changes are made.

I would never death ride the club but hearing the way Ben used to talk ab him in pressers, especially as a young bloke... oh, I wouldn't mind him showing up ole benny boy. Still want the win though

Yeah they did, but trials barely have enough venom compared to regular FG matches. Speaking of venom, I was watching highlights of manly v tigers last night in 2009, and I really miss how simple footy was back then. As tommy raudonikis would say, 'just go out there and f**ken hit em'
Yeah KW I often watch the old games, simple footy without all the crap, I suppose money and being totally professional, fitter faster stronger, its not simple footy anymore and never will be.

Question for the forum, if we win against Tigers and are 3-3 after 6 weeks, will you be satisfied with the first quarter of the season?
I’d be pretty happy with that this year, winning 50% of our games consistently throughout the year would be a solid pass mark given all the circumstances.
Anyway, thinking of heading out to Campbelltown for this one, never been to that ground, or not since the 1980s at least.

I'd be satisfied with a 3-3 record, but I'm not satisfied with some of our performances.

It's less about win/loss ratio (although that's very important) than the confidence and consistency we want to get from our team as fan. Tuning in or rocking up each week hoping we suck a little less than the week before is getting tiring. I find it so unfulfilling as someone who followed closely through the 90s and saw average teams on paper be in and amongst the action most years if not in a grand final. Though weak on quality we are still a confidence team that can trouble any team on our day. The confidence the team have in themselves comes and goes all too much, just as it has the last 10 years. In a good game we are very patchy as a unit and in the bad games we are a rabble.

So, if we scrape another patchy win against the Tigers then actually I can't say I am satisfied, for whatever that is worth.
