Robbie Farah - best in the game?

I am a Tigers fan and not exactly a Newcastle lover.

I do admit that Danny Buderus is the best hooker in the game. Priddis had a brief patch when his form was better, but that was no reason to dump Buderus. Buderus was still going really well at the time.

Farah does have the edge in skill, but Bedsy is the better allrounder.

Both guys are not better than Ben Elias.

Was bedsy better in his second year than Farah is now?

Buderus played his 2nd full year in first grade in 2000 (he played 1 game in 1997 and a few in 1998, but wasn't a regular until 1999). At the same time, they were very close in attack(Buderus slightly better), but Buderus was a better defender.

Several people (Steve Roach was one) thought he should have been the Australian hooker since the end 1999(I didn't think he should have been until 2000). He played for Australia in his 3rd full year (in 2001).

But the big factor in rating players is consistancy. Plenty of players can look like superstars for a period of 10-12 weeks, but doing it every week over a period of years is how you're determined in the future. Hope Farrah does keep performing.

Thats pushing it a little. Buderis has performed for a few years at the top. Farah will get his turn in a few years. Your not a biased Tigers supporter are you?????

Yeah I am a biased Wests fan but what the hell has that got to do with anything, particularly on this forum?

I base my opinion on in two years time Farah will be around the 70-80 first grade game mark....yet hes an established first grader already who should make minor reps ( city country) this year and hes only on 30 odd fg games.

And on the other side of the coin, in two years Buderus will be 30-31, Johns will be gone (we seen how bedsy goes without johns last Sat...dummy spit big time)...how long will he keep that up? Its well known fact you cant perform when upset, and Knights dont perform without Johns.

Again...Im a biased Wests fan, but theres a method behind my madness.

Robbie has a long way to go before he can be considered as good as Bedsy. Having said that he has enough talent to get their eventually its all about consistancy, Bedsy has been the best hooker in the game for a long time now, Farah will almost certainly be his eventual replacement at rep level if he keeps playing like he is but thats a few years down the track.

thats the thing people are looking at it from a 'potential' point of view and yeah farah probably has more potential but the player I thought had the most potential I've seen was Owen Craigie and look whats happened to him

Well i'm not one of them, i rate the three equally. But i have heard a lot and read a lot into fans and players rating Buderus higher then them.

obviously herd and read alot of knights fans rating them
because they are the only ones that would have buderus near Walters or Elias let alone ahead...

Farah is left footed. He eats ice-cream with his right hand and scores tries with both.

buderus was MILES better than Elias. Don't even compare the two. Walters and buderus are much of a muchness though.

Even Gorden Tallis said he's the best hooker he's seen. Considering how biased he is against Newcastle, that's a fair wrap.

Benny revolutionised hooking, which is something that Buderus cannot claim.

Buderus has been lucky that there has been an absence of any competition for the last 5 years.

Compared to Benny, S Walters, Roycey, Mario, K Walters. Even Tony Rea& David Trewhella were ok.

At the moment we have a plethora of good fullbacks.

From mid 80's to about mid 90's there were a lot of good hookers.

Times change.
