I would back farah for NSW duties, in fact I was disgusted he was overlooked this year.

I had no issue that Buderus was picked, but thought it was very wrong that Robbie did not make the bench.

I am sure Bellamy will not make the same mistake.

Just browsing a few more stats from the semis. Smith really is a defensive player. Only ran the ball 4 times in the Eels semi compared to 7 from Riddell and 3 from Marsh. These days I like my dummy half running and keeping the markers in two minds.

Tim Smith.

Bigleague mag grandfinal edition.

I trusted bigleague more than the inconclusive rleague stats page.
Fair enough. Is Kimmorley in the top ten?

You don't think Wests having a severe lack of a halfback made it so Farah had to kick more than he normally would. i.e what was last years stats.

In my opinion, it was the catalyst for losing the series. With Mullen at half, he was the only kicking option, and the pressure put on him saw us smashed for field position and momentum etc.

Later when Kimmorly came in, our kicking was good, but we were non-existant close to the line. I think Farah would have changed our series.

Farah reminds me of Harrison.
Harrison was a standout in a very weak team, and has never cut the mustard since leaving souths(injury's havent helped)
Until Farah plays in a decent team or @ rep level(city barely counts) we wont know.
Smith is a standout in a champion team, and any comparisons @ this stage are laughable.

Farah kicked lots, though obviously less with Prince - but losing Prince in turn would negate some of his other stats because we were on the back foot so oft.

So far what ive seen in the thread is
Newcastle fans prefer Buderus
Tigers fans Prefer Farah
Storm fans prefer Smith
and neutral fans prefer Smith
If this thread wasnt biased Smith would be winning by a long way and rightly so.
Smith>Farah>everyone else

imagine my surprise, tigers fans rating Farah over Smith

get off the gear you lot, Cam Smith is the best hooker in the game by a fair margin... Farah as the ability and talent to push him but at this stage its a no contest.

f**k off raiduh 69 you socially feeble f**king serial killer candidate
You think Colin best is Steve Ella and Trevor Thurling is PAul Sironen
You are the most biased mug on these forums

Fact is Smith would look very average playing with the non metre eating pillows that Farah does every week. We have one forward who averages over 100m and a cretin at halfback (alas `our cooper cronk' - c Tom Shines - became our Jason Ferris). Farah is a far more dominant player than smith. Smith has a bigger kick but then he kicks off the front foot most weeks because he doesn't play beside 4 pillows who make 60m a game and thus doesn't have the defence all over him when he kicks.

Get back to wanking off about Dane Tilse and the other assorted sh*t you have assembled down there in the arsehole of australia (joint with melb)

farah stood out when we won the comp, he stands out more so now. to say what you have means youve obviously never played footy. by your reckoning shannon hegarty would look like a superstar at souths. at the roosters he was a qld and australian rep, however that was in a premiership winning team. take him to an average team and he looks like sh*t. its 100 times easier to look good around champions then it is without them.

smith is the new golden child of the nrl, he can do no wrong and gets wraps every game, even if he does nothing.

Reminds me of a classic Steve Walters quote:

"Go easy on me benny, ive got a test to play next weekend"

I cant recall, could have been, the point being Benny was a top player, and top players have the ability to put on a good show against quality opposition players, thats what farah did, he outplayed the best #9 in the world

Benny probably got the better of Boxhead on a number of occasions too, still doesnt change the fact that it was Boxhead first, Benny second and now days Smith first, Farah second

thats your opinion. i remember the 1990 kangaroo tour. walters played in the first test which we lost. benny was brought in for the next two, which we won. elias scoring the winning try in the 3rd game and winning the motm

Forget Australia for now- why isn't Farah who has been the form 9 in NSW for 2 years not received a Blues jersey..? I chose Smith as he is a proven rep player, when Farah gets his chance he'll prove himself I'm sure.

from those choices, Smith just.

from all hookers, Buderus, fully fit, is still the best there is - and will show it in 08.

I'm looking forward to Smith handing Bedsy his arse at club and Origin level in 2008.

I don't dislike many players but Buderus is an exception.

Some helpful stats according to Bigleague and Rleague stats. BTW, these are relevant unlike prizes.

Farah

Tries - 7 (4 more than Smith)

Field Goals - 4 (4 more than Smith)

Long Kicks - Total 112, Opposition 44, Open 68 (Smith fails to appear on the top kickers list)

Tackles - 754 (Smith fails to appear on top tacklers list)

Try Assists - 18 (Smith fails to appear on top assists list)

Smith

Smith dominates goal-kicking - however, Farah is obviously not a goal-kicker at this point in his career.

You missed a few Stats..

Dally M player of the Year Cam smith 1 Farrah 0

Times Played for state Country Farrah 0 Smith A hell of a lot more...

Smith is the Current Aus captain and is One of the best players running around he plays his best footy week in week out and isnt depending on wether his team is playing good or not like Farrah...
