Cam Smith is a better organiser, leader and defender. He's the architect behind the melbourne storms dominance over the last 2 years and will make the right decision 9 times out of 10. He's the 2nd best player in the world only behind Thurston.

Farah is a more exciting player to watch than smith and is more likely to pull off something brilliant when needed. I think he would make a very good halfback if he wanted to. He just lacks that extra bit of class that smith has. He can't control a game like Cam Smith does.

You missed a few Stats..

Dally M player of the Year Cam smith 1 Farrah 0

Times Played for state Country Farrah 0 Smith A hell of a lot more...

Smith is the Current Aus captain and is One of the best players running around he plays his best footy week in week out and isnt depending on wether his team is playing good or not like Farrah...

You had my general agreement up until this geniused statement

I cant recall, could have been, the point being Benny was a top player, and top players have the ability to put on a good show against quality opposition players, thats what farah did, he outplayed the best #9 in the world

Benny probably got the better of Boxhead on a number of occasions too, still doesnt change the fact that it was Boxhead first, Benny second and now days Smith first, Farah second

And you were how old in 1990???2 years old???

Benny owned Walters, repeatedly, and this year v Melbourne Farah outshone Smith.

For the record......I rate both in the top 5 players in the comp.

On their abilities I think Farah just pips Cam Smith.....

Cant wait for Origin this year when this riddle gets solved.

Pretty easy poll.

I will take the State of Origin winning, Test playing, NRL premiership winning, Dally M Medal wearing and soon-to-be Golden Boot Player of the Year before NSW's best hooker in Farrah.

So Ben SMith Owned Gasnier in 05 when they play doesnt make him a better player...

and Mark Riddel is playing for NSW this year ??

Well said.

IF the bias Tigers fan wants to play tit-for-tat with one game performances, let's revisit Farrah's last t wo rep performances (for City) where he hasn't lived up to THE expectation in consecutive years ;-)

Smith. Most well rounded player, and a born leader. With any half decent 6 or 7, Smith is your man. However, if the best half you can come up with is kimmorley, then Farah might be your guy, because he does have a slight more attacking spark.

Australia are fairly well stacked for halves atm. NSW however....

smith by quite a large margin. farah suits the tigers because they don't have a halfback.

and i'm stuffed if i know who NSW are going to turn to for a bit of heart or leadership when the going gets tough next year if farah is such a sure thing to take buderus' spot. i too think buderus will prove his doubters wrong.. again.. next year - when he has a semi-competent team around him.

i guess it helps when your team wins.

when the tiges won in '05, it would have been interesting to have seen a poll at that particular time.

this is just a snapshot - who knows what will happen in another 2 seasons.

Robbie got the Points Hd to Hd on both occasions this season. He was brilliant both games against the Storm.

Like Smeghead said. Wait till they sqaure off in origin, then we can see who the best is.

As for those Knights fans desperately still clinging on for Buderus as No 1...LOL, please.

In 2007 I think it went Cameron Smith then Michael Monaghan then Farah.

But that's just me!

Monaghan is now gone so it's a two horse race with Cameron Smith pipping Farah at the finish!

i don't think anyone thinks that.. and if they do then they're pretty dellusional. i do, however, firmly believe he is still a top shelf player, and gets bagged on this forum a lot more than he deserves.

I agree that Buderus is top shelf and is talked about on here like he is a no good hack.

Excellent player and one of the finest cmpetitoes I have seen.

Knights fan have every right to get right behind him.

I rank him third behind Farah and Smith, but not that far behind, and on his night can be number one.

This post and the bloke who pointed out that Knights fans went for Buderus, Tigers picked Farah and Stormers and everyone else went Smith are the ony two posts worth anything in this thread.

Cameron Smith by a mile. Close to the best player in the game and has all the records this year to prove it. Farah can only look on in envy.
