Todd Lowrie has been solid for more than the past month, has gotten better each week and I'd have him back on a one year deal as back up. He cops far more slack on this forum than he deserves.

He must be doing something right for Daniel Anderson to keep him in first grade all year....

Seeing as it doesn't mention anything in regard to what contract either player have been offered we are jumping to some mightybig conclusions. It is unlikely that at full strength next year Lowrie or Robson are part of the starting 17 or for that matter the top 25. If only in terms of experienced depth, an area which we struggled this year, they are worth signing on part time contracts. ;-)

How many try assists does Robson have in 2009? I can't remember him setting up a single try.

If you're interested Lowrie is averaging approximately 65m and 20 tackles a game.

I'm pretty sure Lowrie had a 100+ metre game on the weekend?

No f**k that Colonel if they're not going to be a star player, they're not worth having at the club :sarcasm:

Robson has set up 1 or 2 tries this year i think and it is funny that since Mortimer has been there he has "looked" better. Robson is a defencive halfback with Mortz and Jarryd/Burt doing most of the attack. We will be much better with KK in at halfback I am sure of it. Robson is durable and has a decent passing game so could come on off he bench as a hooker or will just play for wenty unless injuries occur.

 I have a good Idea lets sign Joe G up instead of Lowrie........

Because it's that easy isnt it?

Just sing this bloke instead of that bloke.

Dont worry that you dont know how much cap room we have, and how much each player would accept to sign.

I think next year we should only sign 17 players, and if someone gets injured, just play with 16 the next week.

Up to yesterdays game;

Robson's try assists - 3. Two less than Hayne who has 5 and the most for the club. Burt has 4, Mortimer 4, Kris Keating 3, Mateo 3, Ben Smith 3, Lowrie 3, Matt Keating 3.

Line break assists are interesting - Mateo 8, Lowrie and Grothe 6, Robson and Burt 4.

3 tries in 12 games for an NRL halfback isn't very good.

With Kelly leaving, we do need a cheap backup halfback so i'm in favour of re-signing him. Otherwise if either Mortimor or KK get injured we are screwed.

Re-signing Lowrie and possibly losing a player like Baiteri is madness. Robson is the most unskilled 7 I have seen in a while. However at least he is not a ball hog like Finch who is the biggest myth of a marquee player the Rugby league World has ever seen.

robson isn't actually in our top 25 is he?

if not then would he be content to stay on but not in the top 25? ... in which case his base salary isn't really a NRL salary cap issue - if he's just a backup then I don't see much harm in resigning him the same as now if he'd be happy with that

Especially if he really wants to stay. As a 27 year old with just 16 or so first grade games under his belt I can't imagine him demanding top dollar.
