Barely 60 seconds later the Eels were in for their second try after second-rower Nathan Cayless charged it up, got halfway through a tackle and passed superbly for Burt, who turned Knights fullback Seage inside out in a 20m run to the line.

Ah...the good ole days. Where are they gone?

I was initially dissapointed when we Vaealiki left us at the end of 04 after getting injured in the Sharks game. I initially thought....s**t....now we really don't have any centres, after Lyon left us....then we signed Tahu...and I jizzed in my pants.

Yahoo Tahu!

This is the weirdest logic I've ever seen. Shouldn't it be easier for a decent forward to stand out in an ordinary pack? How can you possibly blame the fact that Lowrie struggles to roll over the advantage line and is simply not big enough or powerful enough on the fact his teammates are just as bad? That makes no sense.

Also your example of how it works at the Knights has probably never even happened so it's a rather grasping-at-straws theory - Paterson and Simpson have barely played this season let alone together; Cross and Tolar are both out injured; and Taia often takes takes one of the first hit-ups of the set anyway.

And apart from all that Taia is simply a million times the player that Lowrie is in every facet of the game.

It makes perfect sense - when you have a good pack that bends the line you give the next guy who is going to hit it up more space. Our pack gets bashed all over the place and by the time he receives the ball he's already getting tackled - no forward is going to make over 5 metres if every time he gets the ball he's already being smashed.

I've seen it on the field - I've experienced it personally. When the rest of the pack doesn't make metres, nobody else can.

You have a slight point in that if the first 3 have made a dent, then the defense is back peddling and he won't be hit as hard.

But as someone else pointed out, then why doesn't caylo, ffmm and hindy drop the pill and only todd?

Look, Todd has awful hands. No doubt about it.

However, say what you want about Cayless - he's a solid guy. Ditto Hindy and Fui. More solid than Todd, anyway. It helps when you're a solid unit.

But I won't deny Toddie has hands like feet.

What I will say, though, is that the rest of the pack bar Fui doesn't exactly make Todd's job any easier.

Okay; what do we think now?
Robson had a really good game today. I`d hardly say he`s not a first-grader, now. Seems the more games he has, the better he gets.
Lowrie had a very good, solid game as well. Didn`t make one single error in the whole game - which, let`s face it - is huge for him. Well done. And Tautai came on and showed some little touches of brilliance. Very solid in defence too. It`s great to see these guys step up and show what they can really do. Well done.

they need to back up this performance today with a similiar effort next week.

I was happy with Robson today, he seems to be warming to the task a bit and growing in confidence and ability. while he is only a fill in he was more than capable today.

Robson played well today but I wouldn't be getting carried away. The try that he scored was more luck than execution and alot of his kicks still missed their mark or found the fullback on the full. The positive thing was that he ran and defended well.

All those people in the media who were bagging coach Anderson about letting Finch go don't seem to be bagging him now.

Even though we kept losing when Finch left and we still will lose plenty - after releasing Finch - a breath of fresh air has passed through Parra.

Isn't it great seeing all these other footballers get a chance to show what they've got -
