I was cringing all the way through Lukas' songs. Fingernails on a chalkboard would've been much more preferrable. Fingers in my eyes would've been much better actually. That was the most embarrassing thing I've heard in years.

I was so happy when I heard that Toby was going to be doing Throw It Away, as it is my fave song from his band Juke Kartel. He was awesome!

I thought Lukas did a crap job with Living On A Prayer though, it was awful!

I agree that Toby's own song was awesome.

I can't believe Dilana is still there. I think she is terrible.

I really want Toby to win now. He has stepped up a level.

hows Newsted crying like a little bitch?

Please - its all for show.

Besides - Storm did a great cover of Pink Floyd. No jumping around like an idiot really let her voice get the message across. I loved that.

Toby kicks a$$ - if he doesnt win it - its fu<ked. Awesome original.

Lukas is a little b!tch. When he started singing that song "about his mum" it made me think - 'i bet he actually still lives at home with his mum'

Dilana hasnt been the same since the whole interview thing - shes gooorrrnne!

Magni is good - but not great. He is gonna have to pull out something very special if hes gonna be a real chance.

Storm was easily the second best the other night behind toby - her original was great.
And whats with the Supernova + Navarro guys all wanting to play that song for her when she records it!?!?!? If shes that fu<king good - pick her for your band numbnutz!!!

No she didn't...she fuggen murdered a classic.
Cut it short and started crying during it.

Even Gilby looked at Newsted with a "dude'? look on his face.

I bet you don't see touchdown Holden crying.

The house band are good though.

That supernova song was pretty tame ...almost lame .

You betcha - i dont see f**knuckle Holden doing anything - i dont watch australian idull.

And i think that the supernova song was rubbish - wehter or not it was just a way to expose Magni as a wrong fit or not - but he was very unimpressive.

He definitely has, and I'd be happy if he won. But at the same time, the 4 songs that Supernova have sang so far are crap.

I really can't understand why skank b!tch is still there. Maybe just to set her up for a big fall?

Toby must win. He's really turned it up a notch. Magni wants to go back home to his family I think. His heart just doesn't seem in it. Lukas just p!sses me off. His voice make me wanna puke!

Anyone else get the feeling Toby and Storm are doing the nasty?

We've heard 3-4 of their songs...all sung by different people, and you can come to the conclusion that they suck?.....

http://www.smh.com.au/news/music/is-toby-our-new-rockstar/2006/09/14/1157827048563.html

Australian singer Toby Rand's free ticket to rock'n'roll glory has been pulled from him at the last minute after the outright favourite failed to win the US reality TV show Rockstar: Supernova.

Canadian rocker Lukas Rossi was crowned the winner this morning and has now earned the right to front drummer Tommy Lee's band, Supernova.

Rossi, who has similar looks to Australian Idol contestant Lee Harding, is described on the Rockstar: Supernova website as a gifted singer with a "Jeff Buckley meets Freddie Mercury" style.

At a press conference after the event, Rand, who finished third, said: "Disappointment would be just the opposite of how I'm feeling. To play with Tommy Lee, he was my major drawcard."

Rand had previously told media that if he didn't win the competition, he was still likely to get a record contract.

He is set to meet with Tommy Lee's manager, Carl Stubner, to negotiate his future.

Rand and another of the show's performer, Storm, will take part in the 28-date tour, starting in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve, with the same band that backed all performers during the series.

The 28-year-old from Melbourne had been the outright favourite to win TV show.

But it will be the Canadian contestant who will front Lee's new all-star band Supernova, featuring former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke.

The newly formed supergroup will record an album and embark on a 28-city tour of the US and Canada.

But the Rossi-fronted Supernova band may have to change its name before it even starts recording or touring after a Californian band with the same name won a preliminary injunction against the new Supernova outfit.

They are banned from "performing rock and roll music, or recording, or selling rock and roll music recordings under the same [name], pending a trial of this action on its merits, or until otherwise ordered by the court,'' MTV reported, quoting San Diego Judge John Houston.

The original Supernova group formed in 1989 and are best known for their song "Chewbacca" which appeared on the soundtrack to the film Clerks.

Rand had impressed Lee during the first 10 weeks of the show by stripping naked and also exciting female fans during live performances.

When Rand recently sang the Billy Idol anthem, Rebel Yell, the surfer from St Kilda dragged eight women from the crowd on stage to dance with him.
