I learnt today he was the first Australian wicket keeper to score a century against England.

I learnt today he was the first Australian wicket keeper to score a century against England.

Fist Australian keeper to score a century at all up to that time from memory. He ended up with 3 centuries, and a few others in the 90s. I remember a big hullabaloo when Bill Lawry declared with Marsh 92 no in his first series. His batting declined towards the end of his career but he also batted with an eye on the team situation rather than as a purely personal effort.

Marsh also got 355 wickets, of which 95 werecaught Marsh bowled Lillee.
