They have a player sharing arrangement with the Bears. By pathways I meant pathways in the district to play higher levels. Concord is still one or two suburbs from Ryde.

Okay, so kind of like Cabramatta and Newtown?

Yeah there are a few Massey teams alined with NRL clubs

Kingsgrove feed off Roosters U/20's that dont make the 17 for the weekend match

Blacktown and Windsor share penrith U/20's and NSW Cup

Auburn have Bulldogs 20's and NSW Cup

Guildford have Parramatta 20's

Asquith did have ties with Norths as well.

That was all based on the 2014 season. I don't know the relations for 2015

I never understood why Norths needed another team as they have Asquith in their own JL area.

If Souths top 25 are all fit, they can drop back 8 players to Norths for a game, who they then have to drop 8 players from their 17 plus the extras in the squad so you can be looking at up to 10 or 11 players going back to one club for a game. Pure hypothetical and last year Asquith and Burwood were only getting about 6 players MAX between them, but the possibility is still there that nearly a whole run on side will be displaced in RMC by fringe NSW Cup players.

That would then filter down to Shield and result in a lot of guys not even getting a game on the weekend who've been busting their nuts all preseason.

Imagine what that would do to a club. I imagine that's why there's two sides for Norths.

The delay in the draws release is because some clubs are yet to sign participation agreements. Amazing that the NSWRL doesn't impose a deadline to make them sign it and get the draws out.

Some fans actually enjoy the RMC each week and would like more than 2 weeks notice to organise a viewing season. Disgraceful management.

Nah, you couldn't pay me to like Cronulla.

I just like to keep up with RMC news as it's one fleeting avenue left for me to follow Western Suburbs Magpies in a senior competition (although with a Shield team this year as well it's double the awesome).

Totally agree with you mate, except on the cronulla comment which i will ignore. hahahahaah

I'm a massive fan of the massey and shield and find it frustrating every year that there is little information about both competitions. Draws usually get released a couple of weeks before the 1st match.

The Cabra nines are this weekend and there is no draws/teams announced for that.

Coverage as a whole of the RMC/Shield is pretty poor given the quality of games and teams that run around in them. That's why I've now subscribed to the NSWRL magazine that you can buy at stand-alone NSW Cup games to keep up to date on the 3 leagues in more detail than a few botchy paragraphs in Big League.

Blacktown Workers are building nicely for the 2015 season with some very healthy signings added to their roster

The following players have been signed for 2015

William Butler
Sene Tala
Wayne Beh
Stanley Waqa
Fred Latulipe
Alex Seini
Taki Moeakiola
Oliver Gordon
Blake Dunscombe
Sammy Aiga
Nu Akeripa
Troy Errington
Jack Le Hang

I'm also hearing Kingsgrove Colts will not be coached by Jeremy Smith this season but with have Jade Ferguson as a player/coach.

Blacktown have continued their impressive recruitment adding Braeden Batiste, Tala Mapesone, Tiger Vatuvei and Barnabas Tavui-Leota to their squad. Seems like a lot of players are keen to play under their new Head Coach Pat Weisner who was their Halfback last year and Cabra's coach a few years ago in Sydney Shield. I was told by some Newtown players at Cabra at the time that they loved his coaching so I was surprised to see him playing for Workers last year. They seem to have got their act together over there and as a Panthers fan it would be good to see them and Windsor make the finals this year.

Anyone know when the draw is coming out for the 9's this weekend?

Pat is assisting Dan Cochran. Cochran impressed at the back end of last season so they kept him on as head coach. I saw the majority of the blacktown games last season and they have an impressive set up. They will do well this season. They are led well by Jerry Key who has impressed everyone with his leadership.

Jerry Key was one of the top players in the competition last season and was a major reason for Blacktowns improvement.

Dan Cochran stepped in when Adam Tuite stood down at the end of the season and was supported by Pat Weisner as he was still playing.

Pat Weisner is the Director of Football and Head Coach of the Massey and Shield teams in 2015 with Dan Cochran solely coaching the Massey and Leon Latulipe solely coaching the Sydney Shield again. Pat Weisner has done the recruiting for this season and as the Head coach of the club I think it will be more of a shared role with Dan Cochran rather then assistant coaching regarding the Massey Cup, with Pat also being there as a sounding board for the Sydney Shield coach and player management. The assistant doesnt do the recruiting.

The Blacktown players training up at Penrith at the moment have also said that the above is the case from what they know. Both clubs are still affiliated with Penrith for 2015 with Windsor entering Sydney Shield for the first time and Brad Prior still at the helm.

I feel for the teams that have signed their agreements. How do they plan?

It's simply not fair, and yes....Disgraceful management.

Does anyone know what is going on with Cabramattas ground and if they have an alternative venue lined up for 2015?

I'm sure it'll be fine. I saw it a few days ago and the field looks like that soft carpet you just want to walk on with bare feet!:lol:
