Great final 4 games coming up in the Shield comp. 2 points between 8th and last. Every team can still make the semis.

Only the first 6 teams have a positive PD but Guildford look like they might have enough points. If Belrose beat Windsor next week I reckon they will get the 8th spot.

Western Suburbs belted Windsor today 44-18. They've been running really hot the last few weeks and hopefully get into the finals.

Kingsgrove got annihilated again, 82-6. The question must be asked again why they remain in the competition when they are belted weekly.

Burwood have been picking up some points here and there too. Looks like it'll be an exciting race to make the 8, especially looking at how the teams in middle table (Windsor, Blacktown, Auburn) seem to have hit a bit of a drop in form at the moment. I think there'll be one or two sides in the bottom half of the 8 that will make a push into week 3 of the semis, Wests or Blacktown look capable of it at this point.

Asquith beat Wenty at Ringrose yesterday in a grinding match, to put themselves back up to outright third.

back from the hills v mounties game. real hard game of footy, could have went either way. Mounties 22 - 18.

might be hard for Hills to finish in the top 4 now, they'll need to all 3 remaining games and hope that results go their way.

Belrose kept there hopes alive with an 11-10 win over Blacktown workers in the Sydney Shield in front of a vocal local crowd courtesy of a field goal from captain coach James Mortimer 3 minutes from the end. Blacktown had previously missed their field goal attempt from straight in front.

Mounties continued their relentless run towards the RMC with a 30-14 win over the other serious contender, Wentworthville. In the shield game, Wenty came back from a 26-10 deficit to win 34-30 to consolidate the minor premiership.

Back from the Hills v Guildford Shield game. 32 - 26 Hills.

Hills down by 6 with 2 minutes to go. Try, sideline converse 26 -26.

1 minute to go, kick off - 1 tackle than a sweep across their backline Hills fullback hits a gap about 60 metres out beating covering tackles to go all the way.

TRY, coversion Win 32-26.

Great win. This mob can go deep in the finals series if they cut the errors out - 4 completions out of about 14 possessions in the 1st half, the 2nd half being only slightly better.

Wests beat Auburn 28-22. A game in hand against Burwood, a match against Blacktown and ending the season against Kingsgrove could see them scrape into the 8 and from there anything can happen.

WESTS! WESTS! WESTS!

Both the RMC and the Sydney Shield comps have been brillant. 2 rounds to go and in both competitions there are still 10 teams in with a chance to make the 8 plus many possibilities of finishing positions.

Go Wests in the RMC and Hills in the Shield.

WESTS! WESTS! WESTS!

Wests make up game against Concord Burwood will likely decide who clinches 8th spot in my opinion. Cabramatta are shot and only have the bye in their favour over these last two rounds. They'll have to win their last game against Burwood, which doesn't look likely given their respective form.

Burwood's other game is against Kingsgrove, and Wests have Kingsgrove and Blacktown, the latter not having been in too great form the past few weeks either.

Given the momentum both teams have, I think whoever takes the two points this coming Wednesday night will snatch that final spot in the 8!

That being said, both could make it in if they can pick up at least 2 out of 3 wins and Guildford drop both their remaining games (very possible, Asquith at Storey and Mounties).

Should be a great run in to the finals! Despite Mounties and Wenty running away with first and second positions there's a genuine feeling that the comp is there for the taking this year.

I feel RMC will be a shootout between Mounties and Wenty. Wenty NSW Cup look like missing out on the finals and they have 5-6 RMC players playing Cup atm, once they come back I see them becoming much stronger.

Shield I feel is a lot more open, with the top 4 teams being quite inconsistent throughout the year.

For the 2016 season, Hills will be having a RMC team as well as a Syd Shield team. Word is Concord look as though they will not be in RMC and you would imagine with the relationship they have with Hills this year, Hills may try and retain an amount of players from there. Hills will also be a feeder to Nth Syd NSW Cup

That is an interesting slant on Cabra given that they have won 3 from the last 4 games, including a very convincing win against Wests. In season where only Mounties and to lesser extent Wenty string wins together, 3 from 4 does not look too bad.

The Mounties coach has done well to keep his team motivated in the face of minimal challenges. The half time score today is Mounties 38 Auburn 0.

Auburn are not a great side but they have managed to win half of their games and will of course appear in the finals as will all but the bottom 2 teams (and Kingsgrove).

Will be interesting to see if they can keep it going. They should walk home for the premiership but anythingcan happen in finals and it could bode well for whoever is playing them that theyve been so unchallenged all year if they suffer from complacency.

Allatoa must be getting paid some good dollars to play SS.
He would be one of the most experienced NSW Cup players.

I think he played in France this year so would just be filling time before heading back.

Hills District SS benchman Harlan Alaalatoa plays for Limoux in the French Elite. I read that Limoux had a budget of 405,000 Euros or $625,000 AUD so I would think he is on decent money in France. His game count in NSW Cup would be high but would not approach Andrew Pearn who recently passed 200 games.

Wests keep the ball rolling, 26-14 winners against Blacktown in front of a very healthy crowd for RMC crowds. They're really building some great momentum and must surely be rueing a very slow start to the season. Finals qualification comes down to Tuesday night against Burwood.

Mounties have walked the minor premiership but are in danger of complacency. They have a tendency to choke in the finals series and may well repeat that this year.

Back from the Hills v Auburn SS game 34-16. Fairly dominant performance from Hills except for the last 3 minutes, allowing in 2 tries.
