That's odd, the guy in Parramatta website is identical to the guy that played for Hills - I saw him play against Blacktown. While about 10 of the Parramatta 20's are playing SS with Guildford, Jack Miller is playing for Wenty and Dargan started with Hills. After 3 games with Hills he obviously got a start in NYC and now has a run in NSW Cup. It will be interesting to see how many games he gets but in 2015 there were 26 players that moved between SS and NSW Cup during the season (and more than 120 for NSW Cup/RMC).

It is a bit odd that Hills RMC receive players from North Sydney and yet Parramatta retains a small connection to the Hills SS team

Blacktown have 1 win and 7 losses in SS this season but have named quite a strong team to take on East Campbelltown this week with the inclusion of Josh Tangitau, Jerry Key, Braeden Batiste, Will Butler and Sene Tala. Workers also appear to have added another player to their list with Temati Rangi, who played with Wenty earlier in the season, also in the side.

North Sydney pick a squad of about 30 but then receive players from the Souths NRL squad so some of the Norths guys spend the whole season with RMC clubs while others go up and down (similar with Newtown and Cabramatta).

Norths players used by RMC clubs in 2016 are as follows:

Asquith - Tasi Tasi, Evan Lee, Abbas Miski, Joe Dockinavalu

Concord Burwood - Bernard Gregorius, Jack Seijka, Latrell Schaumkel, Aaron Booth, Jackson Garlick, Riley Travers, Fred Muala and Scott Williams

Hills District - Winstone Asotasi, Tulsa Samanao, Devom Makaore Boyce, Eden Syme.

In addition Dean Parata started with Asquith as part of the Norths squad but after a few games switched to Blacktown and Jordan Latham has played a few games for Norths but I had thought that he was an Asquith signing.

The contempt of the NSWRL for these 2 comps is staggering. The SS ladder on its website did not have the sunday games from last week included and the program for this week still had several try scorers for Burwood against Kingsgrove missing.

For a umber of years, Terry Liberopolous produced the weekly program and over time he assembled a team of reporters that resulted in every game in NSW Cup, RMC and junior reps receiving a match report as well as a round summary for SS. Those for the top 2 grades included the actual team line ups rather than the lists published on the prior Tuesday, which are often changed extensively.

However, the NSWRL took over the program, sacks all of the reporters and now there is nothing.

NSWRL twitter does not publish half time and full time scores for RMC and SS whereas a few years ago it did.

Expect more of the same.

I was one of these reporters. We weren't official given the sack but were informed the NSWRL were going in a different direction with this seasons' programme. Times change i guess. Very frustrating as the programme hit it's peak last season with glossy paper and amazing coverage of all grades and the Jnr reps. It's disappointing as most of the reporters and photographers were just volunteers. Trust me Massey and Shield club officials are not happy, it was the only coverage their players were getting. How are these players meant to go places when no one knows what is going on with the games.

Terry still produces the programme but can only print what is given to him.

I still get to games and really love this level of footy. Once finals time rolls around watch the NSWRL get right behind the competitions. Very poor

They are definitely different people. One is Dargin and the other Dargan. Easy to confuse as they are both young. The Parra U20 Dargan has been with 20's since round 1 and playing really well, which seems why he has been called up to NSW Cup.

You are right, 2 different people, both involved in indigenous RL but Dargin is probably past 20 as he has played in the Penrith JRL for Windsor and St Clair, so he would never be picked, so he is probably back in A Grade now. They might be cousins with the families adopting different spelling of the name.

The Hills District Bulls moved back into the Ron Massey Cup top eight when they pipped the St Marys Saints 24-20 in a controversial Ron Massey Cup main match of Round 10 at Crestwood Reserve, Baulkham Hills last Sunday.

In a pulsating match that ebbed and flowed all day, the Bulls – missing halves Jason Wehbe and James Boustani to the Lebanon v Cook Islands Test Match played at Belmore – held their nerve in the closing stages to hang on and win.

The Saints settled down first when a superb cut-out pass from half Jake Butfield hit Tom Eisenhuth on the chest for the centre to stroll over and open the scoring in the seventh minute for a 6-0 lead with Butfield’s conversion.

Bulls skipper Tim Robinson replied from a short pass from stand in half Ben Falcone to crash over under the posts and level scores seven minutes later with Liam Walker’s conversion.

Class Saints fullback and young Penrith Panthers prospect Brent Naden showed his class in the 23rd minute when he rounded up opposite number Gerard McCallum’s 60-metre burst before he beat McCallum for pace off a Butfield pass to score and give the visitors a 10-6 lead.

Giant Saints winger Luke Nadurutalo out-leaped Walker from a bomb three minutes from half-time to give the Saints a 14-6 lead going to the break – as a prelude to the controversial incident of the match.

After the try was scored, Eisenhuth lodged an on-field complaint with referee Phil Sung against Bulls stand in five-eighth Devon Makoare-Boyce for an alleged eye gouging in a tackle leading up to Nadurutalo’s try.

Sung had no choice but to place Makoare-Boyce on report to be dealt with during the following week by the NSWRL Judiciary.

In a thrilling second half, Bulls stand in hooker Adam Spicer scored his first try nine minutes after the restart to set up the second stanza nicely at 14-12 with Walker’s conversion.

Then in the 61st minute, two superb passes by ageless interchange Bulls forward Hutch Maiava and fellow prop Robinson sent McCallum away under the posts to give the Bulls the 18-14 lead with Walker’s conversion.

Naden then scored his second try with 12 minutes left when he leapt high from a Butfield bomb above McCallum to plant the ball down next to the posts to regain the lead for the Saints at 20-18 with Butfield’s conversion.

As time ticked down, the Bulls had one last chance on the back of field position gained from a couple of suspect passes. Spicer burrowed over from close range through three defenders out wide with three minutes left to regain the lead at 24-20 with Walker’s successful conversion.

In the last 90 seconds, the Saints got possession back and looked to have pulled a result out of nowhere when second- rower Joe Vaegaau looked to have scored – only for the last pass to be ruled forward.

The Bulls held on from the scrum to close out their win to move back into the top eight.

In the other match of the split round last Sunday, the Concord-Burwood Wolves continued to serve notice that they are a genuine Ron Massey Cup threat as they trounced 2015 Grand Finalists Asquith 36-14 at Goddard Park, Concord.

With the bigger Wolves pack making the most of the Magpies’ diabolical completion rate of just four from 11 sets in the first half, Concord-Burwood’s brilliant backline set up a match winning 26-nil lead at the half-time break.

Joe Uluibau, Cameron Eyles, former North Sydney Bear Bernard Gregorius, new centre Matui f**kof**ka and class five-eighth Marc Russell all scored first half tries as the Wolves ran riot over the hapless Mapgies in the first 40 minutes.

Asquith did mount a comeback of sorts in the second half despite missing Abbas Miski and Mark Daoud to the Lebanon v Cook Islands Test, and winger Alex Nicholls-O’Neill to a touch football carnival in Queensland last Sunday.

When skipper Joel Latham, halfback Aaron Groom and bustling centre Jeco Makatoa got on the score sheet with tries in quick succession in the second half, the Magpies had hopes of a miracle comeback when Makatoa converted his own try.

However the Wolves steadied and put the game beyond doubt when interchange fullback Sami Latu scored to extend the Concord-Burwood lead to 30-14.

Giant Wolves backrower Kem Seru put the icing on the cake when he barged over to score in the closing stages to complete the scoring at 36-14 with halfback Aaron Booth’s fourth conversion from seven attempts.

This weekend sees the rest of the split round completed with four matches to be played – three on Saturday and one game on Sunday.

Western Suburbs and Wentworthville square off at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday in a mouth-watering all-Magpies “battle of the birds” as the pick of the action – playing as the main curtain-raiser to the Wests Tigers v Wyong Intrust Super Premiership NSW match later in the day.

The St Marys Saints stayed in the Sydney Shield top four when they edged out the Hills District Bulls 32-28 in the main match of the split Round 10 at Crestwood Reserve, Baulkham Hills last Sunday.

It was a matter of how many for the Saints early, as centre Urima Toomalatai burst out of the blocks with two tries – one from a Blake Milgate pass and the other from a high crossfield kick – to give St Marys at 12-nil lead after just six minutes.

The Bulls struck back when fullback Siona Tonga scored from a Saints turnover to bring the deficit back to just six points after nine minutes with his own conversion.

The Bulls then levelled scores when lock Josh Shepherd finished a left side movement in the 15th minute.

The first-half tryfest continued when St Marys winger Peter Scanlan finished a nest blind side play in the corner for 16-12, before Hills District regained the lead when centre Jordan Tongahai made his way through the Saints cover for Tonga to convert and the Bulls to lead 18-16.

The Saints weren’t done yet before the break. Back rower Phil Salevao made the most of a Bulls turnover three minutes from half-time to score. Gordon Toomalatai landed his third conversion for the half to give the visitors a 22-18 lead at the break.

St Marys came out on fire to start the second half. Winger John Tuliatu got through token defence out wide 60 seconds after the restart, before Urima Toomalatai completed his hat-trick of tries just three minutes later.

Gordon Toomalatai’s conversion extended the Saints’ lead to 32-18 and a runaway win was on the cards.

To their credit, the Bulls slowly worked their way back into field position and got rewarded with second- rower Nick Betar scored wide out to reduce the deficit to 10 points.

Then Bulls winger Meli Katia completed a left sided raid with 18 minutes left to bring the scores back to 32-28 with plenty of time left.

As both sides upped the ante in defence – Tongahai’s brutal defence for the Bulls countered by some big hits by Saints skipper Dean Zammit up front being highlights – neither side could score in those last 18 minutes.

The Bulls had one last chance in the final two minutes to pull the game out of the fire, but turned the ball over deep in attack to allow the Saints to hang on for a vital victory that kept them in Sydney Shield top four.

In the other game over the split weekend, the Belrose Eagles returned to the winner's list - but not without incident as they eventually trounced the hapless Asquith Magpies 42-nil at Lionel Watts Reserve last Friday night.

Belrose - minus Captain/Coach James Mortimer - looked to be in for an easy night when debutant winger Justin Abou-Melh scored two tries inside the first 12 minutes for a 12-nil lead.

Then Belrose really struggled for the rest of the first half as their errors – and Asquith's best first half of the Sydney Shield season – put a directionless Belrose under real pressure.

The match exploded with a brawl in the 16th minute when Belrose prop Erza Howe and Asquith second-rower Daniel Carlson were sin-binned for 10 minutes for fighting.

Belrose continued to give away penalties in their frustration.

As a result, referee Darian Furner had to give stand in skipper Dave Marando a general caution in the 25th minute - warning that the next penalty given away by Belrose would result in someone being sin-binned again.

As this caution was being given, Howe and Carlson were returning from the sin bin.

Sure enough from the penalty after the caution, Howe never got back the required 10 metres from the Asquith tap kick and made a tackle from a blatantly offside position.

This forced referee Furner to send Howe to the sin bin for an incredible second time in the half. Eventually, Belrose got to half-time with a 12-nil lead.

Belrose came out on fire to start of the second half and struck immediately when interchange forward Marcel Ferris scored two minutes after the restart to make it 18-nil.

Fullback Christian Bate and centre Alex Franklin put the match beyond doubt with two tries in three minutes midway through the half, from simple backline movements to extend the lead to 30-nil.

Howe capped off a remarkable night with a barging try with six minutes left, before replacement back Alex Zarounas finished the night with a 25 metre solo try in the last two minutes to complete the 42-nil win.

Stand in Belrose halfback Tom Collins had a perfect night with the boot - landing seven goals from seven attempts.

This weekend sees the remaining five games in the split round being played – with three matches on Saturday and two on Sunday.

The young Guildford Owls outfit test their Shield credentials against competition leaders Mounties on Sunday at McCredie Park in the pick of the weekend match ups.

I got to watch Wests vs Wenty today in the RMC as the curtain raiser to the Wests Tigers and Wyong NSW Cup match. Holy moly it was an absolute belter of a game with a very healthy crowd for this tier of footy. The ref was putrid (missed a LOT of forward passes) but it was incredible. Wests won 22-20. There is a lot of quality in this RMC competition, I just wish the NSWRL would actually give a damn about it and provide it with more promotion/exposure. The odd game on an NRL game day would be good for those with access to the larger stadia (even if they played one game at a big ground just for the specialty of it).
