Wont get a look in for ROTY but as I said in the game thread George Burgess was very impressive in limited minutes today.

It's going to be Adam Reynolds as long as he doesn't get injured.

A good half trumps a good centre every single day of the week. Throw in the fact that he might be the first rookie since Halligan to lead the scoring in his first year and you have a Rookie of the Year.

The best centre in the world isn't as important to his team as the best halfback. It's that simple.

Spine players will always take precedence in these sort of awards.

Cant see Reynolds not getting it being a half
Hurrell would be my pick.

I think Wighton has been more impressive than Lee but i dont think any of our boys are in the running, and tbh im ok with that, ROTY is a bit of a poisoned challis

The most surprising rookie this season has been Andrew Everingham. Won't beat Reynolds or Hurrell but he can find the tryline and isn't the worst defender either.

The winners usually do really well or completely tank. Gillett went onto play state of origin after winning it, as did Idris (lol), while Hunt, Cherry-Evans, Anasta, Hayne and Folau all went to play international footy. Some of the winners did fall out of first grade though with the likes of Sandow, Tim Smith and Utai all struggling at different points of their careers. Although at the moment only Hayne and Cherry are really in the frame for international selection out of the 7 former winners running around in the NRL, (28%).

I believe Hayne is the only player who has won a Dally M Medal and Rookie of the Year though, so maybe they don't always kick on, although had the awards been held in 2003 Cam Smith or Billy Slater would have been likely ROTY winners.

When was the last not a non-"spine" player won the Daly M POTY though? A lot of those rookies never stood a chance to get that honour really

He's been around for awhile but never cracked first grade. He was in the Knights system. He would be the oldest rookie to win it wouldnt he? He's 25.

Can't go past A Reynolds or J Reynolds if he qualifies. Hurrell needs to sort out his defence and his mental toughness before he should be considered

a few more have made their debuts lately. what does the full list look like now?

Answering for the Warriors...

Konrad Hurrell
Ben Henry
Sam Lousi
Omar Slaimankhel
Sebastine Ikahihifo

Carlos Tuimavave is named to play this week as well, on debut.

Adam Reynolds will win it. He's had a terrific season. Hurrell will be fine, he's just had some shocking luck with injury. Could happen to anyone I suppose. Even in that team he's been on the paddock he's been the most devastating player they have.
