Bias aside, Reynolds. Has an advantage as a playmaker but has an all-round game. Also an outstanding goal-kicker. Hurrell is a beast on attack but has significant defensive short-comings still.

I like Hurrell, the guy is a beast, he's built like a tank yet still has some serious pace. He's going to be a star.

Gotta be Hurrel or Reynolds.

Reynolds will probably take it cause he's a half. Wouldn't mind seeing him play with a bunch of tards around him like Sandow or Soward though.

For mine its Adan Reynolds.

What would be an interesting task. Can anyone name an All-Rookie team of the year?

1. Mansour
2. Taufua
3. Hurrell
4. Moga
5. Everingham
6. Sezer
7. Reynolds (c) hehe bias lol

That's the best backline i could think of, packs too hard to pick but i think it would contain the likes of Jack De Belin, Alex McKinnon and Curtis Sironen at lock.

i had hoped at the start of the year that Jack DeBelin would be the Rookie of the year but its tough for a kid playing in the forwards to step up to NRL level and remain consistent and in form all year and i also thought Alex McKinnon at Newy would be pushing him for rookie of the year honours but Adam Reynolds would be my pick with what he has done so far in 2012

Thrust into the 7 shirt this kid looks like a beauty and i love watching him play, cool as a swimming pool he eats pressure and has good speed and work ethic

i also agree with what some are mentioning on here with Hurrell, kid is a real meataxe and has some defensive issues but he is gonna be a crakka player for the Kiwis for years to come, i love him

Aidan Sezer is doing a good job at Titans and ive still got hope that Jack De Belin hits form to have us discussing him in rookie of the year terms for the rest of the year

Reynolds will probably run away with it and Sezer will be the only one that will challenge him at this stage IMO. I'm not sure about Hurrell, he'll be nominated but I think the others have shown more consistency.

I agree Reynolds will win it as he is a half and a damn good one, but to say Hurrell lacks consistency is simply ridiculous. He's put in near-identical performances in every game...

Hurrell for me. he would have more trys by now if he wasnt next to mannering.

 qft.
I'm a converted Mannering fan, and the guy is a defensive juggernaut. But the number of times the play breaks down when it comes to him... ugh...
I'd kill to have a Glenn Stewart type beside Hurrell.

Seems to be a bit of a myth the whole "Inconsistant Hurrell, bad defence etc". It might just the perception of the Warriors in Aus (although as a team we are inconsistant), but as stated above Hurrell has been a beast for about 8 weeks straight since he came back into the team. His defence started out shakey, but he has been solid for weeks and is improving.

Hurrell has been close to our best player for the last 8 weeks. Deduct him from our team and we lose a massive portion of our attack, not to mention intensity.

His defence is average. Sure he'll put a lot of shots on, but he got caught out for the Linnett try on the weekend and that's happened a fair few times down the channel between he and Maloney this year.

Certainly, he's improving. That's to be expected from a guy who's played union all his life. But it's not a perception - he has a lot of work to do.

Inconsistency, that's another matter. He's been a powerhouse on attack every week and suspect in defence nearly every week. That's consistency.

But then again, any brown-skinned player - especially for the Warriors - is going to wear that tag.

Reynolds is a shoe in for this year. Just hope he doesn't become another Jason Martin, Matthew Rodwell, or Brett Firman.

The Dragons have 4 elligbile players, I believe: Cameron King, Jack De Bellin, Nathan Green, and Jack Stockwell. King has the most potential, and most Saints fans are a bit miffed why he hasn't been given more of a go this year. Jake Marketo has played one too many games in previous years to qualify.

By the way, at what point will people realise that positional awards and the rookie of the year are not based on Dally M points?
