QLD will have some muscle in Webb and Crocker. As long as it is controlled agression and they do nothing stupid.
They will have Petero, Tronc up front. Smith as hooker.
Dallas Johnson as lock.
QLD will do ok greg

Yeah and did, and then some guy called Johns turned up.
As i have said previously on the page..QLD will win if Johns doesnt play.
If NSW do win then get this post and use it against me and laugh at me. I dont care.

petro still offers a lot.

i can't share the same enthusiasm about tronc as others - he's started the stop before hitting the line routine & doesn't seem to be at full tilt anymore. i thought he was better in '05.

crocker is a poorly diciplined workhorse

webb is a half-gamer who is certainly nowhere near last year's form

johnson is a great player but like crocker it's at being a workhorse

cameron smith is sensational.

it ain't a scary pack charlie.

the blues are gonna be chockers with seasoned impact players, seasoned power / yardage players, seasoned ball players & seasoned athletes.

i admire your optimism.

I am not big on Tronc, seems like a lumbering Matt Parsons, but he will do ok. Prefer Webcke, but that aint happening.
Crocker has shown in 2006 he has the discipline. He has been sensational this yr. Maybe in origin he will lapse into his chooks days, but time will tell. Still, QLD need some form of intimidator. NSW dont have one.
Webb is not in early 2005 form, but i have confidence in him.
On paper, yes NSW are better in positions 8-13, but the key is no great #7. He seems to just have a magic impact of that team.

Eh, who knows. I may have. I underestimated him and i paid for it. I was very wrong about it. See, not hard to admit i was wrong.

cutie is sh*t. I can't believe he was chosen.

He is a Kiwi FFS and should be playing for them.

Bowen, Inglis, Hodgson etc. etc - all better than Hunt.

What a joke.

It's not like Hunt was a first choice either. Mini, Hodgson and Slater out and those 3 in order prolly would've been the pecking order. Bowen was dudded but with the choices after that the selectors have clearly gone for Hunt and his combination with Lockyer. I still think Bowen's been dudded, and maybe guys like Wesser, Hornby of Schif deserved to be picked ahead of him, but they've gone for the combination. And Hunt's not a gimp, the kid can play despite what a lot of people here think.

People just seem to think "Pick the best players and everything else will work itself out". For a one off game, combinations are very helpful.

Time for a little conspiracy theory me thinks...

Bowen wants to play in Sydney, I'm willing to bet Bowen will be made aware, Stuart got him dropped from the test team, he can get him back in, all he needs to do is sign for the right club.

Yes to a degree NSW have better forwards, but QLD this year have the better backs, and the more in form backs. Can anyone name players in better form than Bell, Hodges, Inglis, Bowen, and Thurston? Even Lockyer is starting to find some form.

Can NSW match a backline that could look like this come origin 1

1 - Bowen
2 - Inglis
3 - Hodges
4 - Bell
5 - Sing/Scnifcofscke/Boyd
6 - Lockyer
7 - Thurston

On current form, minus Johns I say a very big hell no.

One wing spot is the only weakness, the rest is very strong.

There is some serious firepower out wide there, you could put martin bella outside Hodges and Bell on their current form and they'd make him look like Eric Grothe Snr

How about Adam Mogg for the other Qld wing spot? Apart from Sing, he's been the best Qld'er in that position so far in 2006.

Terrible decision, but at least it's created some controversy leading into the test. It's going to be an absolute cracker.

What the hell is with Ricky? I'm going to smash the T.V if he sings the aussie National Anthem.
