I hate them, but they are starting to put up the best displays of RL and look like scoring off every set. Will be hard to beat this year now that they are really gelling

They have the team and should give it a fair crack. Need to toughen up a bit in defence I reckon. They will be even better next year IMO.

A very young team playing at their best due to the coaching abilities of Brian Smith. Let's see if Smith has learnt anything from 2001 Eels.

Was very impressed by the chooks tonite. And as Dice said see if Smith has learnt from past experiences.

My concern is they may be peaking too early.

Similar to Penrith vs Manly.

I hope I'm wrong...because I enjoy watching them.

Hats off for the chooks tonight and over the past weeks. They are a pleasure to watch and Carney has brought that x-factor that any contender needs.
Having said that, the question is whether they're peaking a bit too early and might drop their intensity in the finals...

I've never seen Anasta play with such confidence. Where has it been his whole career?

Perhaps the situation with his mother has focused his energies.

it may have had a slight impact, but it's definitely more to do with the inclusion of Carney and his move to lock; relieving him of play-making duties and an stronger emphasis on his running game has obviously helped.

If the grand final was next week, they would win it.. Maybe.
Will the form last through to September though?

Next week should be interesting.

No doubt coaching, positional changes and addition of good personnel are the key factors. I was just making the point that sometimes a players personal lives have a great bearing on their performance on field.

We can often point to players who become fathers. Case in point this year has been Lockyer, with the birth of his first child inspring him to have a stellar Origin series.

Either way, Anasta is playing very well and I'm glad for him.
