99% of fans, can't count the less 1% of the total that follow the Roosters want the following questions answered.

How can a club with no juniors, in the most expensive part of Sydney, recruit the most expensive players for unders ?, poach juniors for amounts no one else wil match, have limited members and crowds, have among the lowest TPAs despite a board packed with envied businessmen continue to have no questions asked.

Perhaps it's why there is little Trust in the NRL and its CEO , it doesn't wash for fans .

I think we understand that nothing will be done given the influence of some people, but when ex Roosters players laugh about the sombrero , it leaves most of us mystified.

Might be things like:

(1) They have a highly profitable leagues club which has been the financial lynch pin for the last 45 years;
(2) Recruit the "most expensive players for unders". Really? Who's that again? Daniel Tupou (not wanted by the Dogs nor Eels)? Latrell Mitchell (knocked back by the Dogs and Manly)? Joseph Manu? Jake Friend? Mitchell Aubusson? Boyd Cordner (recruited when he was 16)? SST (who was injury prone whilst at the Warriors)? Victor Radley? Dylan Napa?
(3) Limited members? Really? Well we currently have more than Raiders, Bulldogs, Sea Eagles, Cowboys and Titans. If we are "limited then what are those 5?!
(4) Crowds? Pfft. We have better crowds than quite a few.

Though don't let facts get in the way of your prejuidices. Says more about you than anything else.

Rugby League has its well worn, tiresome narratives. He just left out the Chardonnay, latte sippers lines.

Sounds like you've just created a billboard for a company that provides golf lessons.

SST wasn’t injury prone at the Warriors. The issue is Matt Elliott had absolutely no clue whatsoever about the likes of SST and Paasi. He gave both one game and that was that.

SST was an absolute gun in NYC. He was always an outstanding talent. But Elliott was as blind as a bat so it shocked next to no one that SST has gone on to be a very good NRL player.

I stand corrected on that point.

Boring.

What evidence would you require to be convinced we are under the cap?

The Roosters are building their infrastructure on the successful NFL model. Other club managements and their fans just don't grasp it.

The fact that the NRL were not the ones to uncover the cap situations at Canterbury, NZ, Melbourne, Brisbane, Parra or Manly means that nobody really believes that just because any club has not been shown to have been systematically cheating the cap, there's not something dodgy going on.

Maybe the Roosters are under, maybe they're over. Unless someone from the club dobs them in, nobody will ever know. It's reasonable to have a presumption of innocence but it's also fair to speculate based on the fact that "the NRL haven't found anything" isn't even close to a reasonable rebuttal.

This is true. Not being caught does not equal innocence but that is the same for all clubs.

I would ask though what evidence would you need to be convinced any club is under the cap? According to most on here our success or lack therof is definitive proof of if we are cheating or not.

2000-2004 cheating
2005-2012 not cheating
2013-2018 cheating again.

True but in the thirty odd years of salary cap football, like every other club, Easts have had a turn over of staff who’ve joined another club or left the game. Plenty of opportunity for someone to dob us in and yet no one has. Touch wood.
