Cordner should've been ruled out of origin on form before soup brain ever came into consideration

Also interesting how people ignore the fact that the NRL issued the NSWRL a formal warning over its handling of Boyd Cordner's concussion for failing to follow the game's policy for managing potential head injuries - https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/11/13/nswrl-issued-formal-warning-over-handling-of-cordner-head-knock/
Yes, we are ignoring it. And rightly so.
It's easy to ignore the NSWRL being flogged with a wet lettuce leaf. Sure they gave a warning but then rolled it back straight away.
The NRL acknowledged the professionalism of all medical staff involved in the game, and took into account the subjective nature in classifying some symptoms before making a finding.
No punishment. No repercussions. No re-education or additional training.

Real issue is why he was allowed to play SOO while sufferring concussion

Hope it has nothing to do former Easts coach now coaching SOO or Easts chairman in charge of the NSWRL

If he were to medically retire, then I can't imagine an issue with cap relief. But in this case he is out injured, no different to any other injury imo.

Basically the Roosters hung Cordner out to dry.

They knew Boyd was a risk to play Origin after 4 concussions during the same year but they let him play Origin so he could get hurt there too and then the Roosters would claim salary relief.

There is one rule for one; and one different rule for others.

Not his 1st KO though. That is where the rules are garbage.

Fresh injuries should get cap relief but not existing ones

So if Turbo does his hammy in origin and misses a year no cap relief?

It is a loop hole for sure but if he didn't play SOO he would have been available for round 1.

Yeah because his brain wasn't mush before that game. The merkin drinks out of his own sippy cup.

He got injured in origin, as simple as that.

In this day and age of stringent concussion protocol if they don't give us the relief then we are more likely to play him earlier and cue the future litigation.

Yeah that's exactly what happened.

You have cracked the conspiracy.

Yep. Pretty much that would be it

He didn't play round 1 last year.

How many times had Disneeeeeeee-lannnnnn Plodner been knocked out last season??? He had to be even a risk running out there and playing. So the Rooster get a free pass for failing to protect one of their players??? So much Adversity!!!

He wasn't playing for the roosters when he got the concussion.

Sorry that fact has you in a tizzy.

What relevance is round 1 last year?

He got injured in origin. Opposition fans are just going to have to get over it.

Fact is this rule came in after a master class whinge from the Raiders after Josh Hodgson got injured when playing for England.

Also I don't recall the blow up when similar salary cap relief was given to Canterbury when "Mr Injury" Kieran Foran got injured playing for NZ. In fact the Bulldogs hierarchy blew up that the relief was only $350,000 and argued it should be the full contract value of the injured player.

Always interesting people want to ignore the facts to fit their narrative.

Yep, in a Tizzy!! After reading this article i was in a furious rage lol.

I just don't think the roosters should get cap relief when Plodner has been a mush brain for years, he was knocked out by a glancing blow which says to me he shouldn't of been on the field the first place. I don't think it much different to Souths getting Surgess and Inglis off the books and into cushy jobs in their retirements.

Why are troglodytes saying the Roosters fail to protect our players? We are giving the legendary Boyd Cordner half the season off even though the concussion specialists (proper specialists; not internet idiots with no medical knowledge) say he doesn't need to miss any games
