people running MK down should remember that he started those games that Kevvy Kingston came into during our 09 run, it wasn't all Kingston by a long shot, MK is a very good, solid hooker

I get the feeling he is one of the players who is going to come back to bite us in the ass. Don't see the reason for releasing him mid season unless we are signing someone else for the remainder of 2011. Young hookers are hard to come by, and with all due respect to Matt Keating whom I rate to a certain degree... Mitchell seems to have much more ability so all I can say is that his release is a real shame.

Mitchell has ability but as i mentioned before with sandow in the side and the rising talent of marmin Barba you cant have to many little men in the team and both of these guys are way better prospects than Mitchel!!!

They play different positions though, and only time will tell if Barba will be a first grader. And don't go use the term 'prospects' because Mitchell himself would have fit into that category less than 12 months ago.

Mitchell is talented, sure - but how can you honestly connect Mitchell's departure with Keating? Losing Anthony kind of sucks (though I back the decision 100%), but all of a sudden that opens the door for people to put crap on Keating? What the...?

what would really piss me off is if this sacking makes Mitchell wake up and he gets serious. Parra have put a lot effort in him and have got nothing back in return. Kind of like Carney having a blinder last year for Roosters and the Faiders get nothing.

Hooker and halves is where the club should be recruiting at all grades. It's already evident the problem is being addressed with the signing of Seage and the young Manly halfback.

I really don't get the Mitchell love? I understand he was pretty handy in the U20s comp a few years ago - but since then what has he done?

He's a living speed bump, is a worse passer than MK.
The only thing in his favour is his speed off the mark in scooting out of dummy half - but he doesn't have a mortgage on speed. There's plenty of hookers out there who are good at running from dummy half.
Oh - and just being FAST doesn't make one a good runner from dummy half either.

Mitchell has been all hype on these forums, I haven't seen anything on the footy field to make me think he'll play more first grade than MK - let alone be a star or anything.

If Mitchell has a bad attitude he will either have to change said attitude or will not last long at teh Roosters - Brian Smith didn't want Feliti Mateo or Jaryd Hayne to play based on their attitude and if he doesn't like you, you don't get a game*

I'd just like to say that I have always put sh*t on Matt Keating.
