Roosters this season (game spoilers)

Last year Martin Kennedy was out serial offender but he is now in a Broncos jersey and is now a clean skin. Why?

I dont know. I get the penalties against the Roosters, most times its hard to argue but what explains that they dont receive any? Like last week, Broncos average 8 penalties a game and then the play the Roosters and suddenly they're perfect. 3 penalties, 1 was a kick out on the full. There was even a blatant tackle on a kicker in the air and no penalty awarded to the Roosters.

And they wonder why fans are decreasing. It's no longer a game won by the best team. The ref has too much influence on the result.

Roosters fans are genuinely in denial about the discipline of their team

Then how does the second most penalized team all last year suddenly only give away 2 tonight?

Opinions are like arseholes... I may be biased in saying manly got off quicker, you may disagree. Good thing neither of us are referees

I will type slowly because you are obviously geniused. The question is how do the teams playing us become so amazingly discipline when they play us. For the second week in a row we received zero penalties in the second half. If this was a sport with world wide following it just could not happen. When the media is a virtual closed shop, it is let to slide. If the NRL wonders why the game is losing fans, then they might want to get the refs to just ref the match, not the match co-ordinators they have become.

Yes you are biased which actually makes you perfectly qualified. The inconsistency in the size of the 10 meters being applied tonight was beyond a joke.

That would explain the ruck penalties but not the late high shot on Pearce or Tupou being blocked every time he went near a kick???

How is it that Lyon can give a long drawn out facial on Maloney in front of the ref and touch judge, yet we got done for a completely innocuous hold down in the first half.

"We've worked em out boys.... All we have to do it win the penalties 11-2 and we'll have em"

Sounds like an acheivable game plan to me

As opposed to the roosters game plan of hold down in the ruck and pray the opposition don't get a roll on?

Yep, roosters are the only team that holds down. It's not like all 16 clubs employ wrestling coaches who specifically teach all players how to slow down the ruck.

The moronic notion that a team would deliberately give their opposition penalties in order to win games is one of the dumbest theories that has ever got legs. Name one other time in sports history where any coach has thought inviting your opposition into attacking position is a good idea.

It's almost like people think us getting caned in the penalties only started in 2013 and we weren't getting just as smashed in the 9 years before that. Why didn't all the lopsided penalty counts help in 2012? You'd think we would be in the top 4 every year if giving away penalties was such an advantage

Roosters had their chances but were held to nil, that's not a concern for you?

I guess winning back to back is like winning the jackpot then entering the lottery again next week

Just out of curiosity does FPN frustrate you? Cause I know Buhrer's 2-3 penalties a game frustrate me. It's no coincidence the same players get 2-3 penalties a game.

Magically all of manly's penalty merchants were choir boys tonight. Helps when the refs acknowledge a penalty occurred, but deliberately don't give it I suppose

Meh to me the roosters don't care if they get penalised. They back themselves to hold teams out. Plus the refs can't penalize them every tackle in every set. 11 penalties tonight, a few high shot, others here and there, probably 5 or from holding down. Hold down as long as you want and cop a hand full of penalties a game, worked for them last year.

Had or chances? 40% of the ball and maybe 2 sets inside manly's 20?

Not exactly a whole lot of chances that I saw

Parra lose a lopsided penalty count and there is an investigation in the papers about all the unfair calls. Newcastle get caned 15-7 and everyone complains of the storm getting a leg up. Rooster get caned 9-3 and we were infringing on purpose and should have had players binned.

Odd that we are he only team that employs this "give penalties away on purpose" tactic while other teams who give away lots of penalties were getting a raw deal from the refs, eh?

High tackles, blatant offsides and Roosters fans still whining about the penalty count. Time to change the record.

High tackles and blatant offsides is exactly what we should have been getting penalties for. The ref even admitted we got hit high and late, but just shrugged off the penalty
