Again for all those who dont understand, the complaint is not against the penalties against the Roosters, it's the penalties that AREN'T awarded for the EXACT same infringements.

Trent Robinson blasts referee after loss to Manly

A furious Trent Robinson has blasted leading referee Ben Cummins following his side’s 11-2 hammering in the penalty count in the Roosters 8-0 loss to Manly on Friday night.

Robinson labelled Cummins’ performance as “unacceptable”. Cummins was assisted by Gavin Reynolds.

“It was unacceptable from Ben Cummins,” Robinson said. “There were so many instances in that game. Boyd Cordner gets called for third man in – pocket ref says OK. He has talked to Jamie Buhrer about being offside on the first tackle of the scrum on two occasions – well penalise it.

“Mitchell Pearce gets hit high off a kick – that’s a penalty. These are very simple rules.

“You can’t have a game 11-2 against us and have those infractions in the game.

"They need to give a good explanation as to why that was the case.

“They worked against each other.

“I’m happy with different rulings, but I can’t answer why we aren’t receiving penalties.”

Robinson backed the video referees' decision to deny Daniel Tupou a try that may had drawn the scores level inside the final 10 minutes. Mitchell Pearce was ruled to have run behind a decoy runner, obstructing the defenders.

““We don’t lie down,” Robinson said. “We don’t lie down, we don’t play for penalties.

“We might be wrong, but that’s our ethic. We don’t play for penalties.

“We openly talk about it. We are not going to lie down. We are going to stand up and keep fighting. We will let the footy gods decide. It’s not in the spirit of the game.”

Despite the loss, Robinson described the match as the Roosters best defensive effort of this season.

Meanwhile, Robinson anticipated prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves wouldn’t have a case to answer despite being placed on report for his shoulder coming into contact with Glenn Stewart’s head. The blow left Stewart concussed and unable to return to the field.

“It wasn’t even close to a shoulder charge,” Robinson said. ““It was in the right timing and it was unfortunate that Glenn couldn’t come back but it was in the motion [of a tackle].”

Had or chances? 40% of the ball and maybe 2 sets inside manly's 20?

Not exactly a whole lot of chances that I saw

And none of that is the Roosters fault? Your team played a very similar game to Souths last week, full of dropped balls, stupid penalties which led to a game of no possession

Parra lose a lopsided penalty count and there is an investigation in the papers about all the unfair calls. Newcastle get caned 15-7 and everyone complains of the storm getting a leg up. Rooster get caned 9-3 and we were infringing on purpose and should have had players binned.

Odd that we are he only team that employs this "give penalties away on purpose" tactic while other teams who give away lots of penalties were getting a raw deal from the refs, eh?

No, I think the storm do it too

Just out of curiosity does FPN frustrate you? Cause I know Buhrer's 2-3 penalties a game frustrate me. It's no coincidence the same players get 2-3 penalties a game.
Funny you mention Buhrer

He?s talked to Jamie Buhrer about being offside on the first tackle at a scrum on two occasions. Well, penalise it.

?He?s talked to Jamie Buhrer about hands in the ruck at a scrum ... well penalise them.

I agree that Manly penalised the Roosters way more than 2 times. Roosters give away a lot of penalties, yes, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen to them.

We've received two penalties in the last 120 minutes of football.

In fact, to be more precise, the penalty count over the last three halves of football has been 16-2 against.

Hmmmmmmm...

Vic to this day I can't believe we actually received the rub of the green in a game let alone on the Grand Final.

Roosters fans are genuinely in denial about the discipline of their team

Our discipline has nothing to do with the penalties we receive, or rather, the lack of penalties we receive.

Why do we consistently not receive the same penalties that we are penalised for? I can cop giving away 10 or 11 penalties in a match but I can't cop only receiving 2 and 3 penalties in successive matches.

The last 2 weeks we have played the Broncos and Manly who this season on average give away 7.5 penalties a game against opposition other than us. Funnily enough when they both played us they only gave away 3 and 2 penalties respectively, all of which came in the first half of both matches. When was the last time a team failed to receive a SINGLE penalty in the second half of a match two weeks in a row?

But anyway good on Brisbane and Manly reducing the amount of penalties they give away by 250% and 375% when they play the Roosters.

Some quotes from Trent Robinson tonight:

“There were so many instances in that game. Boyd Cordner gets called for third man in, pocket ref (Gavin Reynolds) says it’s okay, Ben Cummins penalises. Pocket ref on another one says he’s holding on, he’s holding on. Ben Cummins says penalises it."

“He’s talked to Jamie Buhrer about being offside on the first tackle at a scrum on two occasions. Well, penalise it.
“He’s talked to Jamie Buhrer about hands in the ruck at a scrum ... well penalise them.
“Mitchell Pearce gets head highed on a kick, that’s a penalty.

“Really simple rules that they have given to us ... and they are coaching Manly to not give the penalties.
“It’s just unacceptable.
And he didn’t stop there, declaring his players were penalised because they refuse to try and milk penalties.
“We don’t lie down,” Robinson said.

“That’s what we do.
“We might be wrong but that is our ethic, that is how we play here, we don’t play for penalties.
“But it is up to the refs to police that and they didn’t.

“It is just unacceptable.
“You can’t have a game with an 11-2 penalty count against and have those infractions in the game.
“They need to give a good explanation why that was the case.”

“And there were missed penalties so that was a bad night.”
Asked why he thought the penalties went one way, he added: “I can’t answer that.
“I’ve got no idea what their motivation is.
“I can’t answer why we are not receiving penalties.

“I think we had 11-2, I think it was 12-3 last week ... I think we had 12-5 round one.
“This has been the case against the Roosters over decades so I can’t answer that.
“But tonight was unacceptable.”
Asked if he would now coach his players to play for penalties, he added: “Never.
“We don’t play for penalties. We openly talk about it.
“We say we are not going to lie down, we are going to stand up. We are going to keep fighting.

“And we will let the footy gods decide and it didn’t decide tonight.
“But we are not going to play for penalties. It is not in the spirit of the game.”

But yet it's all a conspiracy in the minds of us deluded Roosters fans:crazy::lol:

It's something I respect about the team. Will never lie down to milk a penalty. Must be the only team in the comp to take that stance.

Our discipline has nothing to do with the penalties we receive, or rather, the lack of penalties we receive.

This explains a lot to me.

Maybe your meagre brain could one day fathom a lack of discipline by your team to the point of it being the reason why you didnt win against a better team tonight.

Reverse it you nitwit and that is the reason why your lot won against a better team and won a grand final last October.

Congratulations. Tug yourself silly.

That doesn't answer the question at all.

We have a very special kind of idiot here. Someone who couldn't get the point, even if it was jamming his head down a toilet and repeatedly flushing.
