Roosters will beat Wigan by at least 40

It should be alternated between England and Australia with a neutral venue every 3rd year if it can get sponsorship or at least a small loss to get new markets interested.

If the NFL is considering a London team then why can't the WCC be trailed in NY or another city that the AMNRL plays in?

Wigan look absolutely shocking this year, they got donkeys like Pettybourne starting just got routed 24-8 at home by Huddersfield in season opener

Get all of your money and load it on the Roosters 13+ and hcaps of -20, -30 and -40

Thank me in advance for your new boosted bank balances, Wigan won't even be contenders in ESL this year.

Whilst I don't think Wigan can win, nor do I hate the Roosters, I shall be cheering on Wigan for the good of the game..

Most League fans from the UK will be cheering Wigan. In Young Burgess, Hughes, Thorniley, Hampshire, Powell and Tierney the production line of talent is amazing. - Now better than for a long time, - But in Pettyborne they have recruited a total Donkey and I can see a hefty defeat which may undermine the confidence of these young players

Play the game every year in Fiji, people would be gullible enough to think it means something, the crowd would be about the same considering half will travel from England anyway and promote the game in a place League is ignoring

Cause people over here are stupid right?

Fiji has a strong league comp and community and many people are working incredibly hard on this. Also, a game with an NRL team in it would sell out our ANZ Stadium not because people here are 'gullible' but because it would be appreciated.

It is not going to happen. Firstly the NRL players don't want it played then. You only have to look at how many in the pre-Super League years used to try and get out of going to the UK for it. Our players just want to celebrate winning the GF.

Secondly, with the scheduling of Test football like it is, there is no room in the calendar for it. It might be imperfect but I can't see it moving from where it is without a serious re-organisation of Test football to fit it in, and that I don't see happening. Not when they are trying to improve Test football.

Serious re-organisation of test football?

No. It could be played the week before the major tournament of the year (usually 4N) starts, in the same country. At worst it would be a 1 week difference.

Players would have more than enough time to celebrate their GF (2-3 weeks).

I guess the biggest hurdle would be actually getting players into a big-game mindset again after the GF. It's just disappointing to play this game with teams that are underprepared and in some cases a shadow of the team that won the previous year's comp.

It'd be quite a feat for a team with less than half the salary cap space of any NRL side to find a spot in the 8

I think the top 4 would have a decent shot of making our top 8. They'd all be competitive sides.

The bottom 4 on the other hand... would struggle to make the NSW Cup finals. Bottom end of SL is god awful.

The World Club Challenge has been contested 21 times, and only two have been played in Australia.
Wigan beat the Broncos in Brisbane in 1994 while Easts beat St Helens 25-2 in the inaugural WCC at the SCG way back in 1976.
The timing of the event, during the NRL pre season, was also widely considered detrimental to the Australian side's preparation, due to the lengthy travel involved, ahead of a new NRL season.
But clearly the clash for rugby league bragging rights has a place in Sydney, with fans eager to see the best club team from England, take on the class of the Roosters.
Sydney Roosters chief executive Brian Canavan was buoyed by the uptake in interest in the match - and not only from tri-colours supporters.
"We're predicting a crowd of 20 to 25,000,'' Canavan said.
"Initially we found it difficult to assess what numbers we may have, but I must say it's been very pleasing.
"It's a big game for us, challenging for the world championship. It really gives us a big kick off into the season.

Should be a good crowd at the SFS. I think alternating it is the best option.

That said, playing it 2 weeks after the Grand Final would make it way better.

Surely it was do-able that the Charity Shield & WCC be played as a double header.

I don't have any interest in either game, but playing them as a double header, I feel would devalue whichever goes on first, presumably the Charity Shield.

The huge gap between the English and Australian game will be shown in this match.

Roosters (if they try) by 50 or 60 points.

Without their talisman Tomkins they are no chance. The NZ Warriors will carve them as well with Johnson and Tomkins running off of their forwards. The NZ Warriors are every chance of winning the comp this year. They are an awesome side. Skill and speed like no other side ever IMO. Attitude stands between them and the title. Wigan will get pumped by both sides.

Yeah, I can see the coaches of all the test teams not wanting to have all their players in camp for the coming tests to build up combinations and tactics so the World Club Challenge can be played  Also, again I'm sure the players involved would want an extra high intensity game after the Grand Final and prior to things like the start of the Four Nations

Not because the Fijiians are stupid, because they are neglected. If the dumbf**k NRL can't understand that games between Pacific Island teams are infinitely more important that watching Wigan get keel hauled, at least play it in a place crying out for recognition.

Just the fact that there is someone with 4 million bucks willing to promote a game desperately in need of a transplant would be enough reason to make Fiji feel welcome

'Gullible' was directed at the people that will watch it in Sydney with interest that will still tune in if it's played in Fiji . . . my apology

Jumping the gun there about NZ. They'll win their fair share of games but they are a long way from the team you describe them as. Just because they have Tomkins doesn't mean much.
