Roosters will beat Wigan by at least 40

I had high hopes for Wigan but it was all over when Jennings strolled over after barely 2 minutes had gone by.

Not a good night for the WCC sadly.

So much for ESL fans and their 'atmosphere' and non stop sing-a-long during games. Wigan fans were dead silent the majority of the game and were at their loudest singing their national anthem  what a bunch duds

They did however bring more fans to last night to the SFS than Penrith have combined for the last 10 years though.

What would you do if the  smiley ever stopped working?

Wigan played a good second half but just ran out of steam in the end. I think the biggest difference was the size and speed of the packs with the bigger chooks dominating. Of course bowen was absolute garbage and for someone was an NRL starter last season thats pretty disappointing, i think he only carried the ball into contact once and offered barely anything in support not to mention his dispicable efforts under the high ball. Wigan would have been better served with a youngster at fullback, if i where them i would be giving bowen an ultimatum to see if he really wants to be there

I honestly think we will be the side that goes back to back for the first time in the long time. Such good defence and strike weapons everywhere.
Lewis Tierney will be the first-choice fullback by seasons end.

Injury permitting.

Spot on. I noticed that at the first scrum...our guys were so much bigger and I knew there was no way they could match our forwards in fitness or mobility so it was done deal provided we put in.

Lets get this into context. 2 weeks ago Wigan were hammered on their own ground 24-8 against the Huddersfield Giants. I'm given to believe from Friends in England that Wigan are not expected to make the top 4 in the European super league this season.

On tv you could hear chants of Wigan but it seemed quieter at the ground

But then I was drunk and talking loud so who the f**k knows

I did expect more noise from them though.

Good to see they turned up in large numbers. That's proper loyalty.
When the Roosters played Saints in the UK in 2003 we had 10% as many there

But Lambretta, they came here just as much for a holiday to sunny Australia. I don't see northern England having quite the same attraction.

What a shame the match was not played last October, two weeks after the respective Grand Finals. Wigan would have had Sam Tomkins at full back, instead of Bowen, and would have scored more tries as a result of that. Also Lee Mossop would have helped the go forward up the centre.

As someone who watches the European Super League regularly (not the English Super League which exists only in Phil Gould's mind), I am confident in saying that Wigan is not the top ESL side in 2014. Leeds have a very strong team, as do Huddersfield and St Helens. I would rate all three of those ESL clubs ahead of this Wigan team. I still think that the Roosters would beat any SL team, but not by the big margin of last night. Against Leeds or Huddersfield it would be more likely by 8-10 points.
